Unfortunately.
But for me it's kinda like Brahms and Wagner, they were both doing different things, neither of them thought much of the other, and yet I like both of them for different reasons.
Fair enough. Both are definitely brilliant, but I dislike Carlos on a personal level for some reason. She just seems kind of... idk, petty or jerkish. But oh well, she puts out good music regardless.

I agree, Carlos as a person can be kind of a jerk, but Switched-on Bach and some of her own compositions are great.

I came upon this while browsing youtube, and immediately fell in love with 'Around the Bend' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCFXSIndYIk
then, later on, I found their cover of 'Inner City Blues', and continued to be impressed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8JZ_as5pxI
My favorite aspect of the album is possibly the use of horn throughout.
I like The Game by Queen.

Nik Bärtsch's Ronin - Holon
An album from a group who classify their music as 'Zen-Funk'. The use of dynamics is incredible, the songs float smoothly from soothing parts to parts that have awesome grooves. Minimalism is a huge part in their songs, while still being very diverse and interesting. Some of them remind me of Steve Reich a lot, which is only a good thing.
Those who like slowly building and groovy songs should listen to this album. There is something that makes you calm, there's something that makes you go 'wow', there's almost everything in a minimalistic package entitled Holon.

very good indie rockish album, might be hard to relate to if you are male but still fantastic

Worst Muse Album, pretty much every song was shit.
Worst Muse Album, pretty much every song was shit.
I agree that it's their worst but I really only think about 1/3-1/2 of it was shit.
And now to post relevant content
Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence by Dream Theater.
Disc 1 is just some awesome progressive metal, but disc 2 is a pure musical masterpiece. 45 minutes of symphony, progressive metal, beautiful singing, and a rather different concept - an 8-movement song telling the tale of 6 people with 6 different mental disorders, describing them in short but accurate detail the whole way through.
Worst Muse Album, pretty much every song was shit.
Ok, fine, then I recommend Origin of Symmetry.
Worst Muse Album, pretty much every song was shit.
hooray for opinions

Wasn't that bad, but it is overrated.
I don't find them amazing anyway.

It's pretty good, but I like Absolution better.

Bad Religion - The Empire Strikes First

One of the best Bad Religion albums IMO.

One of my favourite albums, from my favourite band. Each of their albums has it's own story, that you'll understand a bit better each time you listen through the album. The music is inspired by a lot, including Tom Waits, east european gypsy music and punk rock. And name one other band that hits empty oil barrels with crowbars in the middle of their song.
Vocals are in norwegian though, so you might want to ignore this if you don't understand norwegian and don't like listening to music with foreign language vocals.

It's Les Claypool with yet another awesome album, and this time it's a solo album and god damn if an album starting off with a guy eating shrooms and eating the wrong mushrooms ain't awesome then I don't know what is.

Their best album to date, it's really good. I've fallen in love with it in only a few listens. Focus is perfect on her vocals, the group really do provide their most technically sound performances to date and really show that they've grown. Easy 4/5.
Jamie T - Kings & Queens

As far as newer indie albums are concerned, its pretty impressive. Great debut also.
Rarely into albums really but this one I love:
Forever Changing: The Golden Age of Elektra 1963-1973

Many songs and bands/artists I have never heard before, I discovered some great folk, pop and blues music here. One of the people I discovered were Phil Ochs!

What album is that?

Pretty much the best emo album ever.
It's Diary by Sunny day real estate.
Van Halen "Van Halen II"
It's golden I tell ya
The Durutti Column - LC (1981)

A beautiful album from start to finish. Think dream pop/shoegaze but way before its time. An underrated experimental classic.

Really? Its quite popular these days.
Its The XX self titled album.
Nik Bärtsch's Ronin - Llyrìa

This album easily beats their old ones, it's far more dynamic and changing, while still having the old minimalist influences attached to it. I haven't been listening to anything else for a day.

Probably really popular in Europe, not so popular in the United States.
Kind of like Rise Against...I think.
