Every song on here is catchy, the guitar, bass and drum work is perfect, and the vocals are top quality. Really, I can't recommend this album enough. The true sound of New York.
I saw Obscura, The Faceless, and Neuraxis all at one concert. Let me say, one of the best nights for death metal I've ever heard of.
Album of the decade, and one of the best debuts of all time.
Not sure about album of the decade, but it is a fantastic debut.
Let it Be by the Replacements Every song rocks, it's very catchy, and very well written. It's also pretty varied with some fun rockers (I Will Dare, Favourite Thing), slow ballads (Sixteen blue, Androgynous), some silly throw away songs (Gary's Got a Boner), a call-back to the early hardcore punk stuff (We're Comin Out) and a Kiss cover (Black Diamond). I heard when they were playing one time they found out that Paul Stanely was in the audience so they did a really sloppy cover of Black Diamond just to piss him off so he left. Check it out. It's a great album.
placemats fuckin rule.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's BRMC Great album. Reminds me of like The Verve + John Lenon. Has a nice rough sound to it but it has a good balance of relax and hard rock songs. [editline]5th November 2010[/editline] Too Real One of my favorites.
I'm actually liking this album a lot. Jay Kay can put on a funky album :v: Great that its getting through some of the crap in the charts. I need some more jazz funk bands to pull through like Jamiroquai have, because for the time being they're getting all the glory and making what they have as their own. His voice is quite soulful on the record too, and it works very well with the rhythms. Here are a few tracks to get a feel of what its like. Flame all you want, this is my favourite album of all time Great musicianship and absolutely incredible lyrics I think that this is the pinnacle of anything I've ever heard, and this album alone is what changed my view on music, and finally allowed me to be able to enjoy hundreds of different genres.
LCD Soundsystem - Sound Of Silver Really great Dance-Punk album.
THE classic electronic album. Essential for anybody who enjoys music.
LCD Soundsystem - Sound Of Silver Really great Dance-Punk album. [img_thumb]http://www.albumoftheyear.org/album/covers/sound-of-silver.jpg[/img_thumb]
Holy fuck, this album is amazing. I love LCD Soundsystem. I mean, the new album is just as good, maybe better, than Sound of Silver, but still as good as the first. LCD Soundsytem is amazing. [editline]6th November 2010[/editline] Welp, apparently I posted this very album 5 pages back, so I guess that shows how much I love it.
whoever made that cover needs to be shot
Why?
Mutilated in minutes by Gorerotted. Anyone interested in grind metal should listen to this album, purely for the dark humor and the pun's in the songtitles.
A corpse ass fucking a mutilated woman seems legit
hot They're fucking cool, remind me of early Napalm Death. The guitar does at least, awesome groove. O ye this is good shit They've got the cliché bad blastbeat cowbell drumming though, never been one for that but I look past it
I am going to make a giant post here. The Shins: Oh, Inverted World. The first album by The Shins, a very folk and indie rock album, plays beautifully. Each song has a individual feel to, but blend very well. “New Slang” and “Caring is Creepy” are good songs, but my favorite song is “The Past and Pending” Chutes Too Narrow More rock based than the previous, but it’s better that way. It’s a brilliant album, plays better than “Oh, Inverted World” , and has some better songs, with “Young Pilgrims”, “Kissing the Lipless” and “Turn a Square” sticking out the most. Animal Collective: Feels This album is sporadic. Hell, Animal Collective as a whole is pretty crazy, but it’s amazing. The genres of music in their albums changes in seconds in between songs, but that’s not a bad thing. The album changes from Ambient to Psychedelic , but it’s amazing. “Grass” and “The Purple Bottle” are very good songs, my favorite is “Banshee Beat” Strawberry Jam Strawberry Jam is a hard album to compare to Feels; it’s the feels the same, but feels different all the same. I feel this album flows better, even though it’s sporadic as well. “Peacebone” and “For Reverend Green/Fireworks” (these two songs transition perfectly into each other, making for a brilliant collaboration) are my favorite songs. Merriweather Post Pavilion Another Terrific album. Simply to put, it’s fucking amazing. Listening to it, mixing electronic music with a feeling of aborigines/Africa. A very awesome album, all the songs being good in their own way. Panda Bear Person Pitch Very awesome album, from one of the Artist of Animal Collective, but it has its own individual sound. The album is indescribable, transporting from a lovely opening number, going through every wave of psychedelic, and then further. Pretty awesome album, “Bros”, “Good Girl/Carrot” and “Take Pills” being my favorite songs, but they’re all amazing. The Decemberists Picaresque Folk Rock at its best. Every song is perfect, even the nine minute long sea epic of revenge. The songs are accompanied by very intriguing lyrics that compliments the instruments perfectly. Colin Meloy has a voice that is difficult to get used to, but the roughness entices the song, so it’s perfect. ‘The Mariners Revenge Song” and “On the Bus Mall” are two very different songs, but are amazing, the former being one of the best and most original songs I have heard. John Lennon John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band John Lennon was a master of music. His first album off the Beatles is so full of emotion, it makes you feel sad just listening to it. There are many occasions you know what Lennon is feeling, and his voice is perfect. “Mother”, “Isolation”, “Love”, “I Found Out”, “Working Class Hero” and “God” are great, each emotional in its own way. This album showed what Lennon was capable of doing. Imagine If Plastic Ono Band showcased his talent, Imagine mastered it. The emotion form the previous album, it comes back, but more so. Even better, his protest of war allowed for even more emotional power. “Imagine” is the most famous of the songs, but “Crippled Inside”, “How?”,”Oh Yoko!”, “Jealous Guy”, “Gimmie Some Truth” and “How Do You Sleep?” are just as good. Lemon Jelly Lost Horizons Is very awesome ambient album, with a space feel. Catchy beats, almost whimsical melodies, and instruments used in majestic nature. Uses electronic elements, but is a very good listen. Sit back, relax, turn the lights off, and float away. Space Walk is one of my favorite songs of Lost Horizon.
Nice one John, all of those are great, a couple I've not heard of... but just a great set of albums there.
Merriweather Post Pavilion and Feels are both pretty great.
I like "Spirit They've Gone, Spirit They've Vanished" as well. It's a really good ambient noise album. Alvin Row is probably one of the best songs Animal Collective have made.
LCD Soundsystem - Sound Of Silver Really great Dance-Punk album. [img_thumb]http://www.albumoftheyear.org/album/covers/sound-of-silver.jpg[/img_thumb]
This is one of my personal favorites. If you like LCD Soundsystem, you have good taste in music.
Not a Jazz album, but an Industrial one. If you want to hear early industrial, then listen to this. Its still really strange today. Has some ambient tracks on it. I recommend Beachy head and Exotica off the album.
I love the douchery with album art. great gag
The Union by Elton John and Leon Russell. If you want to hear something that's going to get 20 fucking grammys, before it gets those grammys, and be all  about it to people, listen to this.

Incesticide by Nirvana. Basically a collection of unfinished songs they released between Bleach and Nevermind if I recall correctly, but some of my favourite Nirvana tracks are on it, like ''Hairspray Queen'', ''Aneurysm'', and ''Aero Zeppelin''.
One of the best sludge/doom albums around. The vocals simply blow me away.
