:buddy: Sweet also is there any news on the new iwabo album cos I want it :argh:
They occasionally post about it on facebook, IIRC they're getting pretty close to finishing
(RX Bandits - Mandala) two fantastic albums with one of the most unique sounds I've ever heard. a fantastic third-wave ska band that sounds nothing like the usual RBF frat-boy fodder. and one of the best live harder ska recordings in existence.
Somewhere In The Between is an amazing album.
great album but extremely underrated

An amazing sound collage album. Also get Dispepsi. Be warned though, it does have the effect of completely destroying your orgasm on the Playboy Channel.
In the Nightside Eclipse Emotionally draining black metal at its finest. Prepare for obscure harmonic riffs with blast beats and screeching vocals. Doesn't get much better than this.
Ihsahn is a goddamn musical GENUIS. And the album cover is so awesome. (media'd for size) there's so much awesome shit going on in there that you never notice first glance
I don't understand this album. not only is it extremely good, it was also quite successful on release - and yet no-one's heard of it. This is probably my favourite American album of 1968 (with some fairly strong competition), and I'd recommend it to anyone with any interest in psychedelic rock. (note: Led Zeppelin fans may find track 4 particularly interesting)
Some cool british alternative rock, with some pretty good songwriting and lyrics.
A brilliant instrumental progressive metal album. It has fast and energetic songs, but also beautiful ballads. Its basically instrumental Dream Theater with Tony Levin.
c@ - copy 45 of the possibly strangest songs you'll ever hear. c@ is an avant-garde cybergrind artist with elements of ambient and noise, making super strange and awesome sounds with synths. It's noise, but it's not "hurr durr let's make the loudest, most obnoxious sounds we can"-noise, it's more original than that. It's very underground, obscure and hard as heck to find on the internet due to being named "c@". All the releases are also free, so if you're interested: copy http://www.mediafire.com/?ymciamdmymy Oh http://www.mediafire.com/?ou1wdjzztyy Dead Kitten Wasteland http://www.mediafire.com/?t27b6gpa7gltu55 c@ winter 2 http://www.mediafire.com/?zrppu0u6zh5jhbr Daring Z-Young Nesyel http://www.mediafire.com/?4amfb5piucdsvh6
I listened to that album my mind was fucked
i'm listening to it right now, it's amazing
Johnny Cash - Ride This Train One of the first concept albums ever created in popular music. Masterpiece that has become overlooked in modern times. Absolutely legendary album imo.
it doesn't even have a wikipedia page!
The Magnetic Fields - 69 Love Songs It's 69 love songs, and fascinatingly there's not a single dud in the whole album. Well, maybe there's a couple, but I don't care because they're all short and there's plenty of other great songs.
Yes Pie... I've been meaning to give that a listen. Thanks for reminding me :v:
Gotta love amazing musicians that likes to sing about fucked up crap and still keep it catchy as hell. :haw: [sp]The cover says "Kusoban" (The name of the album.) by "Maximum the Hormone".[/sp]
Wow... looking back at what I recommended really early in this thread. Very mainstream :smug: Ellen Fullman - The Long String Instrument If you enjoy the drone kind of sound that is usually used in "Classical Indian or Sitar music" then you'll like this album. It is basically that but more about a fuller sound created by this magic instrument really. Here's what she plays. Pretty awesome, thinking about making a thread on it but I don't feel a large number of people would enjoy the style.
[img_thumb]http://i56.tinypic.com/29gjv4j.jpg[/img_thumb]
You're recommending an album based on other people's opinions? fair enough... [editline]9th March 2011[/editline] Brian Eno - Another Green World Want something truly artful and legendary? Go for this album, it needs to have a place in your collection. Brian Eno laid down something extraordinary with this record, everything track just spurted out something new. Fans of Art Rock and Ambient should go for this album, because in my opinion... it sparked off a lot of things.
[img_thumb]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/4f/Larks_tongues_in_aspic_album_cover.jpg[/img_thumb] King Crimson - Larks' Tongues in Aspic Right, here is an album I here noone talking about. The general feeling I get from prog fans is that the only "Really Good" albums that they made was In The Court and Red. Well....What if I said that I preferred this album to those? It is a very confusing album at first, a really unusual cluster of erupting sections, which melt my brain sometimes, along with some easy listening vocal tracks. This album is artistically superior to In The Court, but that opinion can be thrown clean out the window due to the fact that it was so ahead of it's time... and now being propped up in the league tables over the years. Give it a listen with open arms..It takes time for songs to develop and flow into each other like most progressive rock albums, but it is my personal favourite of theirs. I'm not going to link any sections from it, as that is not how it is meant to be listened to. You'll have to put the effort in. :smug:
What about Starless and Bible Black? How can people say that's not as good as Red?
What about Starless and Bible Black? How can people say that's not as good as Red?
From the general scattering of music listeners, they tend to not like anything they made outside of Red or In The Court. I do like Starless and Bible Black a lot.. great album.
