I've given up putting ranks on albums. Just personal favourites for me :v:
Lizard is also awesome.

Paul Simon - Graceland
A perfect, often overlooked, pop album. Very influential. Combines African rhytms and vocals with reggae to create catchy pop tunes.

Fripp & Eno - (No Pussyfooting) - 1973
Basically an unexpected collaboration with two amazing artists. Both were in their hayday, at the time when Brian Eno was making it big with his Art Rock albums, and Robert Fripp... with King Crimson obviously.
This album is a bit unexpected, I'm accustomed to Brian Eno's genius as well as being a big fan of King Crimson.
I didn't expect something so ahead of it's time, it was actually some drone ambience mixed with electric guitar techniques by Fripp.
Now we've all heard of Boris and Sunn O))).... but THIS was 1973. :psyduck:
I have no understanding how they did this, but it is something far beyond what I expected. I look forward to their other albums because this collab is one to look out for.
Well King Crimson ARE very well known for being ahead of their time
And Robert Fripp is the main genius behind it
So it shouldn't really be a surprise :smug:

Hatfield and the North - Hatfield and the North - 1974
Some great progressive rock (it's claimed to be "Canterbury Scene" which is a mix of Prog and Avant Garde Jazz), and people are missing out on this music. If you like Genesis' early stuff, you'll adore this.

A beautifully sinister album that sounds like the brooding snarls of a demon in its death throes. References to occultism, the WAV size file is 666Mb, the length is 66:06, and just a generally creepy tone. May send shivers down your spine. Some have been known to cry while listening to this.
I can't imagine anyone crying to that unless they have no balls but it is a pretty damn creepy album.

Might have been more tears then crying. Devil Is In The Details is where I assume any tears come out.

I never found it to be that creepy, a fews songs are yes but a lot of it is very uplifting to me.
I'll give that Boards of Canada album a listen, doubt it's freaky since I'm a fan of Sunn O))) :smug:
Do people actually believe that the devil made that?
On the topic of creepy music:
Aghast - Hexerei im Zwielicht der Finsternis

An excellent dark ambient album, by the wives of two famous black metal musicians. The album is very haunting and atmospheric, filled with ghostly voices, ritualistic chants, and just plain creepy ambience that will sometimes make you feel as if you're witnessing an occult ritual, and other times lost in a haunted forest or something similar. If you're willing to let yourself become immersed in the music, it's a very chilling and creepy experience. I recommend listening to it with headphones on while in the dark.
