I want to get into Tangerine Dream, I have one of their LPs, but they're a somewhat daunting band to get into, considering they have over 100 albums :suicide:

Phaedra is superb
I think "Psychic TV" released 16 albums within a year. :smug:
Oh fuck I'm listening to appetite for destruction.
I'm in love with every song (so far, listened to 9 out of 12) on this album, I love it. :keke:

Njiqaddha released about 20 in 2010, and 5 already this year.
Manic Street Preachers - The Holy Bible

Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues
Pretty nice indie folk rock, get this.

Weezer - Pinkerton

Before falling into average power pop weezer had two amazing albums. Blue (Generic but really fresh) and Pinkerton. Pinkerton was written during River's Cuomo's (Lead Singer) darkest time in his life. He had just been through a painful leg operation to correct a bith defect and was at harvard university but was alone due to his self awarness of the issue regarding his leg and his apprehension of getting recognised as a member of weezer.
Every song in the album screams emotion. You can hear it in River's voice. Each song has meaning aswell and shows the fragile state he was in at the time. One song for example is called "Across the Sea" and is about River's recieving a letter from a Japansese Schoolgirl fan and instantly falling in love even though she lived thousand of miles away. This song highlights his lonliness at the time.
Another great thing about this album is the way it sounds. Weezer self produced this album so all the sons feature a rough and sound akin to something you might hear live. One example of this raw sound in the album is the song "No Other One"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65p6grAGYIM
I could write about this album all day. It has a major impact on my life and the way I view life. So yeah. Pinkerton's awsome.

Man On The Moon II The Legend Of Mr. Rager
Why? Great meaningful lyrics, great sound. Listen to the whole album before you judge.
The songs make sense when played in order and almost make you feel like you are taking a trip.
Also please don't just play this off as another rapper and actually listen to it.
I like MotMI much, much better. II is just full of consumer advertisement it is bullshit.

I have all of cudi mang. A kid named cudi, stoners charm, even this shitty unofficial one that just has freestyles and stuff. If you follow him on twitter you will understand the why he has those lines, If you think that is commercialization listen to any other pop, this is very mild to say the least.

Tom Waits' Nighthawks at the Diner
This is some really badass jazz that has a really relaxed feeling to it. The man's voice encapsulates this album and provides the added "smoothness".
It is a "night" album by the way.

Depeche Mode - Songs of Faith and Devotion
If you like Synth Pop or Synth Rock, Depeche Mode is the right answer. This album is one of the best I've ever heard, a little bit more rock influence but not less awesome.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication
Brilliant album, imo their best album so far, and probably the best place to start if you're new to the peppers. A lot of their more famous are on here too, Californication, Scar Tissue, Otherside.

Cage The Elephant - Thank You Happy Birthday
The groups second album, and I can already see good things happening with them. This album has a lot more soft tracks on it, which work well despite the fact the rest is a garage-band type sound, unique imo.

Coldplay - Parachutes
If you're going to listen to coldplay, listen to this one at least. Beautiful in a quiet, depressing way almost. The next few albums went for a more mainstream appeal (not that that's bad, they just didn't appeal to me that much).

Switchfoot - Hello Hurricane
I never really liked Switchfoot that much, besides a few songs here and there, but this album was really quite amazing, one of those that I don't get the urge to skip songs every few songs.

Warpaint - The Fool
Their first real album, after their EP, Exquisite Corpse (which is amazing as well), and it's chock full of dark and beautiful, psychedelic songs. I can't wait to hear more from them, and I so wish I could have gone to see them a few months ago in Dallas.
And that's all I have for now, sorry for the dump :v:
Atomsmasher - Atomsmasher

This is... well, I'd say experimental avant-garde noise/grindcore.
It was made by James Plotkin, and this is the only release under this name.
It's very interesting, and quite a unique listening experience, I'd recommend it to anyone who likes extreme and/or experimental music.
This also goes for the second album:
Phantomsmasher - Phantomsmasher

This next release under the name Phantomsmasher that released the next year, is very similar in style to the first release. Perhaps a bit more grind-oriented, but very much the same.
I couldn't find too many videos of it, but here's a song from Atomsmasher (the title says it's Phantomsmasher, or actually "Phantosmasher", but it's actually from the Atomsmasher release).

Watershed, by Opeth

The general gist of Opeth has always been very soft long sections of a song (usually done with piano/violin/acoustic) followed by a fast-paced metal section, and then precedes to end with a soft tone. Many other metal bands have refused to call it metal, they call it art. It's their newest album, while it may not be my favorite album it does contain my favorite song.
My favorite song by them:

Lol
Watershed is a cool album but it's clearly showing off that they are going mainstream.
Porcelain Heart is a wonderful example.
All the other Opeth albums > Watershed
