Just found another important artist for me that I've missed out foolishly. I won't tell you who it is, but it's definitely a worthy one.
Why not
Why not
Because Isaac Hunt, bro. :smug:

Why would you even say that and then not tell

Was it too late to edit that?
Yes

Sounds interesting. I'll add it to the pile. :3:

I know Mogwia's "Mr. Beast" was posted - possibly "Hardcore Never Dies, But You Will" - but Jesus Christ, "Happy Songs for Happy People" could easily be there saddest work. It's nothing but a big depression cake, really; drones, drones, everything drones and murmurs with such strength, it feels low. This is one of the best albums I have heard, especially from Mogwai who churn out easily some of the best music of the decade. Underrated compared to "Young Team". brilliant album

Some damn good Avant-Garde/Jazz-rock. I hope you find it as obscure/awesome as I did. It consists of 30 tracks that make up a total length of 40:53. The album is a paranoiac soundtrack to an imaginary Giallo horror film. It's rather innovative, and most importantly, different.

This album is amazing it should be compulsory listening for everyone.

The album I am recommending is 'Timeless, Suite For Ma Dukes'. It's an orchestral arrangement and tribute to J Dilla. It's just straight up beautiful music. Genuinely moving stuff.
Everyone should listen to it, especially if you like jazz or J Dilla's music.

I can't actually believe I've had this album for about three months and not listened to it. I've been missing out

Naked City - Leng Tch'e
This is a really gripping EP by the great John Zorn oriented avant-garde drone sludge metal band.
When I first went into this, I was expecting a standing hit of "Boris"-esque, "Sunn"-esque, "Earth"-esque, droney, sludgy groovy shit. But this is something different entirely, because it is a deeply gripping album. It consists of only one song, but from start to finish you find yourself within these NOISY, horrible guitar thrashes and drumming that makes as much sense as a GOAT. The vocalist SCREAMS his brain onto the mic and wants you to be moved into this WRETCHED, disgusting place.....
All in all, you will like it because it's rather melodious and cleanly put together as avant-garde. Surprisingly so too, because the playing is sublime. :3:
Less about drone, but more about FEELING but that's a bit dependant on your mood going into this. Try doing it when you are rather "let down" or when you want recharging. It works. :waycool:
I haven't listened very much to that song yet. I should.
I haven't listened very much to that song yet. I should.
Should. Is crazy.
It's works you on a high note noise kind of thing, then puts you in a death zone of quite nice instrumentation.
Although not overly doomed out.
The Kinks - The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society

Quite a peculiar album. Commerically it wasn't one of their best, but IMO it's Ray and the boys at their peak. Also because it's The Kinks.
Village Green Preservation Society, the title track

Such nostalgia, found this album again recently

Mike Skinner has a brilliant knack for putting it how it is and everything he makes you can relate to.

Rising by Rainbow
The album contains some of Dio's best vocal work and lyrics, and some of Ritchie Blackmore's best composing and playing. The album also introduced the style Dio would follow for the majority of the rest of his career.

This is perhaps the most beautiful album I've ever listened to. Each song lasts around 5-8 minutes, and what Mark Kozelek can fill those 8 minutes with is amazing. This is mainly a guitar based album, very slow, and some great lyrics. Just listen to it.

Demilich - Nespithe
I never see anyone talking about this album anymore. Really good tech death, with pretty unique vocals. Plus, you can download it for free on their website: http://www.anentity.com/demilich/download.php
Sometime I'll browse through this thread and see to anything convincing that I've missed out.

I'm looking for more music like this, it's basically Irish/UK folk music.

That sounds really good. But I'm not too acquainted with "UK Folk".
Pop a request in here: http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1094974-The-quot-Suggest-me-some-music-quot-thread-V2
But do try "Flogging Molly"

Great new folk album, secretly taking over the album. His performance on Jools Holland the other week didn't quite do him justice with quite a weak mix. The album was recorded Bon Iver style, alone after a breakup. Recommended to me by the guy in in my indie record store, says he hasn't had anyone who's bought it react to it badly.

I'd love to run in a band like that in the streets
Although I saw a some kinda psychedelic rock band playing in the streets a few days ago.
Too bad I was too busy to listen to them, sounded so awesome ;-;

Some really great, creative Psychedelic Greek Folk music. I really enjoyed it... and the way I found it was that I simply stumbled upon a list, it caught my eye and I gave it a listen. That's all.
Worth a listen, I'll definitely give this one another too.
