Every single song in Three Cheers is perfect
hmmm
I dont quite get your comment, are you saying the album is uneven or that the songs arent suited for each other for one distinct mood?
Its very far from a bad album, it has a distinct style in its own sense, because of the way they put it together. But hey thats peoples opinions. Havent heard a lot of their other work to give a distinct comparison though
Hmm.
The three "band" tracks are great, but the solo tracks do not complement eachother at all. Do you get what I mean? The songs are good, but they don't fit together.
Downward Is Heavenward - Hum
just an incredibly underrated band of the 1990's that didn't get the recognition they deserved.
Also give "Bleach" by Nirvana a listen as well, i'd reccomend "Negative Creep" and "Downer"
The songs are good, but they don't fit together.
agreed

Pretty good album, definitely aphex twin's most focused work, each song compliments the other
First post in this sub-forum so I don't know what's frowned upon here, but I think Jack Johnson's In Between Dreams is damn good. It puts a smile on my face every time I listen to it.
I just downloaded To the Sea (released 40 minutes ago :v:), and I've only listened to a couple of songs, but it sounds good so far.

Am I the only person who likes MCR and Metallica/slayer/megadeth etc. at the same time?
[editline]01:11AM[/editline]
Because most MCR listeners are branded "emos"

One of the most influential and important albums ever.

its truly a great record, although no legendary tracks, its one of my favourites, in fact i am more likely nowadays to throw on this record than highway 61. Its an album made by a man who still has the drive to make good music, it is one of the most soothing new albums i have heard in ages. Surprised me that it immediately got the top spot in the uk and us, but i guess its a good thing, plus he has a superb croakier voice here :)

The first Led Zeppelin album.....absolute classic, when you hear it... you know the golden age has just begun

Here's another Yes album; one that's often overlooked. It was released on Apr 30th (my birthday :buddy:) in 1991. Since this was before their "comeback", it's not really that popular-- but personally it's one of my favorites. It takes the 80s Yes "Generator" sound, but tones it down a little. It feels very relaxed on the whole, and there are some absolutely stunning tracks in there, like "Lift Me Up", "Saving My Heart", and "The More We Live - Let Go". The percussion's pretty great, too. It's great driving music.
Check it out.

Marvin Gaye - Here, my dear - 1978
it was panned at first because critics overlooked the music and worried about the gossip around it. But now its seen as one of his greatest albums and is now a
classic. Sadly this album is only popular to critics and not people. I gave this album a full listen, its over an hour long, and i was mesmorized.... The album is like nothing i have ever heard before, the genres of soul rnb and funk have simply blended so well to give a message about the mans despair and rejoyce of love.
its an irresistable album, i now have it on vinyl(quite rare), and it is one that i will cherish.
You need to discover this album, its his personal musical masterpiece, just like the white album and songs in the key of life by those artists. :smug:

Ehhhhh, that album, if I remember correctly, takes material that was being worked on by the 70s Yes members, material worked on by the 80s pop-rock Yes and places it all onto one album. Rick Wakeman, if I remember correctly, calls it "Onion".

Well, Wakeman had a name for pretty much every Yes album. :pcgaming1:

You're a Woman, I'm a Machine - Death From Above 1979
A very underestimated album made by only a drummer/vocalist and a bassist/synthesist. The album went gold in Canada and then they split up, and then all the fans cried for them to get back together, but they each went separate ways and started a new band.

Opeth - Damnation
Yes, Opeth is a progressive death metal band. But this album is just a big slice of the soft content that they usually mix with that brutal heaviness. This album is pretty mellow the whole way through, and features all clean vocals. No growls, no screams, just Mikael Akerfeldt's beautiful crooning. Nor are there any excessively long songs, something very common in Opeth's usual stuff.
Track listing:
1. Windowpane (7:45)
2. In My Time Of Need (5:49)
3. Death Whispered A Lullaby (5:49)
4. Closure (5:15)
5. Hope Leaves (4:30)
6. To Rid The Disease (6:21)
7. Ending Credits (3:39)
8. Weakness (4:10)

You can listen to the full album there.
It is an album about a zombie love-story. What other reason should there be?

Kick-ass thrash album with awesome vocals, the perfect mix of technical and melodic solos, and groovy percussions, 'nuff said.

Delphic - Acolyte

Delphic are an amazing band. They sound a bit like a mix of Chemical Brothers and Bloc Party. Live, they are outstanding, and this album is really beautifully put together. "Counterpoint" is my favourite track from it.

heard some of their debut album... seems interesting, some inspiration has gone into it
its a decent album
Lovely album, to continue with the Yes mood:

Yes - Relayer
Half beautiful, half wonderfully agressive. Relayer is possibly (In my eyes) Yes' best work, with Swiss keyboardist Patrick Moraz (Who was fired later :saddowns:). The "main" (longest, first) track, The Gates of Delirium is possibly the best representation of war in music I have ever heard. The instrumental section in the middle is really incredible, the rythem section especially. The song ends with possibly the most emotional singing I have really, ever heard. The next song, Sound Chaser, is a jazzy, frantic song with an awesome, really rather long, guitar solo in the middle sans other instruments. To Be Over, the last song, is far calmer than it's brothers, yet the incredible quality does not dip.
My favourite album possibly of all time.
God, I feel like such a dork. I listened to this album on the way to school today without realizing that I was wearing my Relayer T-shirt.
Nice

Modern thrash done right. Most of the time I find thrash these days is becoming more of a heavy style, these guys sound like they come straight from the 80s. Recommending this album in particular because it's free, and you can download it here.
i know im kinda late but doood! that album kicked ass!!!!

One of the heaviest, most menacing albums I've ever heard.
