Then listen to this single. It's the same song, Andromeda, taken in a normal style (with guitars, vocals and all that jazz) and in an orchestral style. And it can be downloaded for free on their website. Highly recommended. One of the best singles this year, if you ask me.
An 18 minute single, is not a single. :raise:
Two songs at 9:20 each. The band classified it as a single.
Two songs at 9:20 each. The band classified it as a single.
I overule their decision and say it's an EP. :smug: Seems interesting nonetheless.

No free jazz, but great melodies and mood. If you like "warm" music, definitely check out this album. EDIT: here be another. SBTRKT - SBTRKT Genre: Uk Bass / Dubstep / Uk Funky / Future Garage / House This guy literally takes most of the current uk garage sounds and perfects them. If you keep up with any sort of uk bass music this guy should already be on your list of "buy immediately". The artist he uses for the vocals on most the songs, has an almost eerie quality to his voice that blends well with the loud and very high quality bass.
Tangerine Dream - Stratosfear Not quite the "visualisation" I imagined, but still inspired all the same. This kind of stuff takes you to another place anyway. If you enjoy new age, lightly synthy electronic, atmospheric stuff. This is a place to go.
Witchcraft - Self-Titled Probably the best stoner/doom metal album I've ever heard.
If you like minimal stuff that's a little garage/dnb related. Go for Mount Kimbie and James Blake(bit more dubstep oriented). Some nice sounds are going on there too.
http://www.discogs.com/Various-New-Blood-011/release/2816874 check out this comp, a lot of minimal and atmospheric dnb. and the previous one http://www.discogs.com/Various-New-Blood-010/release/2188180

This is where you can only experience what it's like to play badass music through your speakers. Oh yeah. :smugdog:
Band: Eluveitie Album: Spirit Year: 2006 Genre: Melodic Folk Death Metal Seriously, I shouldn't need any more reasons than "It's Fucking Eluveitie, bitch!". And why specifically this album? It's great! Not as great as Slania mayhaps, but it includes "Of Fire, Wind & Wisdom"; My second favourite Eluveitie song! Flute Headbanging = Insta-Awesome!
µ-Ziq - Lunatic Harness The album that got me into electronic music in general. :h: It feels a little tamer compared to a lot of other IDM albums, and I despise his use of beatboxing, but it's a very whimsical feel-good album in a genre that is often times striking and scary. Edit: Except for 'Approaching Menace' that track is terrifying.
I've realised that I listen to a new album every day :buddy: Is a good thing to do.
depends on your wallet or bandwidth :D or room in your house
depends on your wallet or bandwidth :D or room in your house
Only depends on effort. :smugdog:
Why its epic listen out for Take you on a cruise. Some nice bass and rythem guitar throughout.
Pretty much changed my life, not sure how I ever lived without it. Half the album is in my most played and I don't think it will ever get old.

Clever
On a good day I listen about 4 new albums. I mainly listen to some albums I've heard before though, or I pause music and play videogames.

I like to listen to familiar music too much to listen to that much new music every day The fact that listening to music on CD is lovely also adds to it I try to listen to a new album every other day though
I like to listen to familiar music too much to listen to that much new music every day
Well today I was kinda free, but it's normally a new one a day when I can do it. Otherwise I usually rotate my library.
Asking For it - Happy Birthday Hitler Their an acoustic folk-punk band from Australia, the album was recorded an a kitchen. Its basically a guy called Chris Burrows that leads the band and he gets people to join in depending on where he is. So the band members change a lot. It's also free: http://www.archive.org/details/AskingForIt-HappyBirthdayHitler
Master Musicians of Bukake - Totem Three Some very creative sounds here and I really get a lot of imagery coming through in the playing. If you don't like experimentation that goes a little overboard then I wouldn't go for this as it isn't particularly "easy" or "faint-hearted". My advice would be to just sit through it and become immersed in a cluster fuck of cool sounds thrown into the mic.
Nice "late 80s" RnB record. It was apparently very popular at the time, so expect a catchy album. What I like here is that he sounds somewhat "gospel" in his delivery. And the production is also somewhat similar to those sounds, but all in all it's worth a listen if you like something 80s RnB oriented. [editline]26th June 2011[/editline] Probably his best record of the 80s. There's some catchy stuff here and it's somewhat an ode to John Lennon. Empty Garden is a nice tribute. I also like "Blue Eyes", nice contemporary ballad there. Not amazing, but one that is probably overlooked.
