I just can't enjoy other music that is in a different language.
Something is wrong with you
DJ Shadow - Endtroducing..... [img_thumb]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/c1/Endtroducingcover.jpg[/img_thumb] This is another desert island album. I found DJ Shadow in a video on YouTube about EVE Online, but I stopped giving a damn about anything the video was actually about and kept listening to the music of it. While the song I really liked was not on this album, this is the album that got me into "pure" hip-hop. Nothing but DJ turn tables and samples from music I've never heard of. I was amazing to find out nothing on the album was recorded or made by Shadow; it was all samples from other music. There is just something really soulful about every song and it chills me to my core every time I listen to the whole album.
Could not agree more. Shadow is a genius.
Dream Theater - Greatest Hits (Disc 1&2) I love this album. Really got into it lately.
I can't get into it
You just have to listen to it, dont always have to get an orgasm from music

Roughly 2 years ago I remember hearing that some 16 year old dude wrote this entire album based on his own interpretations of all 12 months of the year. If that truly is the case, then this guy is going to be a serious force in music for many years to come, because this is an awesome album. Fans of many different groups will find something to enjoy here. Most prominently displayed is a black/folk sound like that of Agalloch or maybe more Sculptured (another project from the same guys in Agalloch) now that I think about it, but beneath those obvious influences are various quirks. If you go to the bands' myspace they claim to be huge Devin Townsend fans. I don't doubt it, there's a real "wild man" flair about this album that mixes smoothly with some epic compositions, much in the way Devin has a knack for. This style of music and Devin's are very different, since Ye Olde Relic has a very earthy folk sound, but the maturity of the song structures mixed with some good natured fun rings true of their claims. For the best example of this, listen to "August", which basically opens with a foul-mouthed, abusive Devin Townsend impression and a total SYL bottom drop, like a nuke just landed. The instrumentation on "Seasons" is every bit as good as the composition. When it comes time for some odd time signatures and little bit of Death Metal, these guys kick right into gear. I really can't believe this music was created by such a young group of people. Really hope these guys don't get discouraged from from producing further albums. This is too good to disappear. However, all this praise is a bit meaningless without some music, so here's their song for the current month, which is June:

If you are really too immature to get that, too bad for you, you're missing out on so much good music.
I find the best music I listen to is music that grows on you. If you are really too immature to get that, too bad for you, you're missing out on so much good music.
This. I initially didn't like death metal, but I listened to it more and I really like it now.

I initially didn't like death metal, but I listened to it more and I really like it now.
I started listening to a band called Dååth in the last couple of days. Now I'm getting into melodic death metal, and I've always loved tech death. Fuck deathcore though, ugh
Fuck you, I give something a chance and if I don't like it within 3 hours of listening to it, it's probably not worth it
Listen more.

I do say very few, but a few of them are in the OP Anyone could just tell you to listen to Justin Bieber and say "YOU MIGHT LIKE IT", but obviously that would be WRONG.. If we become more versatile and open-minded about this stuff, we learn the meanings of the music, regardless of variety. Sometimes we get a sense of devotion from the artist, it doesn't have to "depend" on taste. That is exactly what I am sick of. Obviously it isn't wrong to have a music taste, but locking yourself in a cage with one mood...one atmosphere of music, just seems far-fetched if people think they really like music. I am not flaming at anyone here, its just a hint of advice :pipe:
Liquid by 35007 Absolutely amazing space rock from the dutch band 35007. I highly recommend you check out this exceptional band.
last marvin gaye album i promise, but his music is pretty mindblowing :smug: the most sexual album you will ever hear, smooth soul, disco jams. Its the ultimate quiet storm album, a must for all, even single people... Erotically charged you need to be when preparing for this album. Enjoy it... The right way

A Quincy Jones and Rod Temperton production.... well... you know what they are famous for... that is for the highest selling album of all time And this unknown number was created 2 years before the thrill. And it is very VERY under appreciated, George Benson is a great musician who still performs. Its a classic, I have it on vinyl and it is superb for the first moment the needle hits the groove... Enjoy it
Between the Buried and Me - Colors I don't think I can come up with words to describe this album. Moments of perfect beauty and in some cases just plain weirdness, set between hectic metal sections with true musical virtuosity showing from every member. From the first hammered piano chords of Foam Born (A) The Backtrack to the last triumphant arpeggios of the epic closer White Walls, this is about as amazing as any album could be. I can't recommend this album enough, and though it won't appeal to everyone, I'm proud to have it as one of my favourite albums of all time. Also, check out Colors: Live to see the band perform the albums 8 tracks, clocking in at 64 minutes of finger shredding lunacy in a single set. No stops, no breaks, the full thing, beginning to end, the way it should be heard. Fuckin' awesome
I simply cannot get enough of this album.......... its actually a legendary modern album, don't say that very often It is so unique, and so brilliant that I'm pondering whether to get it on Vinyl :smug: another album of theirs is fantastic... I will tell you that one later :)
is it kid a
The Flashbulb - Arboreal just released, idm/breaks greatness. Listen to a couple of songs, I suck at describing.
Animals by Pink Floyd. Awake by Dream Theater.
Great, great dreampop. The genre name right there should give a good picture of what the music sounds like. The melodies are catchy and beautiful, and the guitar and feedback effects are really neat and add a lot of depth and beauty to the songs. If you like grand, dreamy music then you should check this one out.

The Allman Brothers Band - Live At The Fillmore East: A lot of rock critics have this near the top of their list of the greatest albums of all time. It features over 2 hours of some amazing improvisation and soloing, also one of their last albums to feature Duane Allman. If you like music like Phish, The Grateful Dead and Jimi Hendrix then there's a high chance you'll like this album.
Animals by Pink Floyd. Awake by Dream Theater.
Animals is basically the soundtrack to everything I've ever believed in lol And Awake...Awake is like sex in musical form.
