Leech - If We Get There One Day, Would You Please Open The Gates? (2012)
Genre: Post-rock
RIYL: Post-2000 GY!BE, Mono, This Will Destroy You, The Evpatoria Report, Jakob
Ah... I knew finally going through that list of 2012 stuff I missed would pay off eventually. This is easily one of the best post-rock albums I've heard in a long time. If you're not into crescendo-based post-rock I wouldn't exactly recommend this to you but I will say that you might be surprised. This album is extremely tightly written and blends all different kinds of post-rock, ranging from the more ambient stuff, to crushing post-metal influenced climaxes, and everything in between. It also has pretty lavish instrumentation with some strings, pianos, and bells here and there and some tastefully used electronics. There's a surprisingly good chance this could be a major aoty contender for me. If you're looking for some well-written and interesting post-rock, look no further.

Superb album, it's kinda forgotten in his catalogue but it's up there.

Anoraak - Wherever the Sun Sets (2010)
Such an amazing album with amazing and soothing atmosphere. Littlebit of that retro 80's electro sound going on.

Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine (1989)
Basically a cool and easy to get into album because while it's very true to Reznor's later works with industrial-electronic music, it isn't remotely as harsh and deals with catchy riffs and choruses more than his later albums, which focus a lot more on repeated electronic noise and that sort of thing (which is still fucking cool, this is just a chance in pace).
oh there's a 2010 remaster too, quality is nice.
i just realized it's pretty chill to have going on in the background

Gorillaz - Gorillaz (2001)
Arguably their best album, it has some really sick tunes that you can really just sit back and relax to/have playing in the background, and for the rest of the week find yourself singing songs you don't quite remember fully.
9/10 in my books, normally when you think Gorillaz you think of the extremely catchy songs that have sick lyrics and catchy beats, but I think all of their albums have some really sick songs that are overlooked too much (Demon Days has Fire Coming Out Of The Monkey's Head, Plastic Beach has Broken, and The Fall i have no idea about because i dont really like that album), but their self titled debut album has a lot more of those in my opinion.
Best example is probably "Sound Check (Gravity)"

Saul Williams - self titled
This is a pretty neat 'alternative' hip-hop album. Mr. Williams knows how to write some pretty powerful stuff.
Aw shit Saul Williams, VERY good poet. Worked with Trent Reznor quite a bit, for the Social Network soundtrack and on NIN albums. He makes some sick fuckin' rhymes.

some of his poetry, aw so good
I think Niggy Tardust was the only thing they worked on together.
WHOOPS was thinking of Atticus Ross for TSN
He worked on Survivalism and Me, I'm Not on Year Zero
and he wrote the words and preformed Gunshots By Computer and worked on Survivalism for Y34RZ3R0R3M1X3D
thanks wikipedia

Band: Ereb Altor
Album: By Honour
Genre: Epic Doom/Viking Metal
Year: 2008
I will now quickly sum up why this album is awesome and why you should listen to it: It's Epic Doom by members of Isole with a clear later-Bathory Viking influence.
You have just been served todays dose of complete awesomeness!

On later albums they go into more pure viking metal, but it doesn't really compare to this. Because this is EPIC VIKING DOOM Motherfuckers!

One of the greatest Jazz Rock/Prog albums of all time. And one of the most underrated. A lot of Lucifer's Friend fans didn't like this one because they completely went off to the side of their proto-metal stuff and made one of the best prog albums of the early 70's.
The musicianship here is fucking incredible, listen to that piano, dat insanely good bass, dat guitar, dat 30 piece backup, that fucking SINGER. He's one of the best rock singers I have ever heard without a doubt. These guys are experts, why this album is not as well known as stuff like Yes is beyond me because it's easily digestible and fit perfectly for their time period. Maybe it's because they were a German band and it was harder to break out?
I don't know if this has been posted yet, but:

Tarkus, by Emerson, Lake & Palmer. Very good prog album, worth a purchase solely based upon the title track (sidelong, 7-part medley that has a strange story and runs for about 20 minutes.)

japanese cabaret is intense, reminds me of Jun Togawa's Guernica era.

Really like this album because of the concept, I just found out that most of Manson's albums is a first-person perspective of different characters that he's visualized.
For example this one is about the leader of a nation trying to get people to repent and then realizes that the nation doesn't want to be saved, It goes into more detail on the wiki.
Honestly I think the writing was pretty creative, my favorite line is from the first track of the album; "I am so All-American, I'll sell you suicide"

I just think this album introduces System extremely well and set the mood for the next few albums that they released.

really great dance record, shame they didn't make more records but people are hearing it and it's good.

Don't really know how to describe this. The vocalist is the vocalist from Mutyumu. Some of the tracks kinda reminded me of Kate Bush
Hi, I really like funky rock music with really heavy slappy bass line. But there aren't many bands like Primus, they've got their own style. But I'd really like to find bands with funky drums and slappy bass.
Here's an example

Oh and I also like the early 80's Michael Jackson with Smooth Criminal and stuff, the Bad album.

Thanks, I like this!
You know anything a bit more rockin'? But still keeping on the groove.
A heavy or slappy bass is a must!

Clockwork Angels is, in my opinion, the best album Rush has ever made. The story of the album is thoroughly enjoyable and features a steampunk-like universe in which control goes up against anarchy and the main character becomes stuck in the conflict between the two. The story was made into a novel written by Kevin J. Anderson and Neil Peart (the drummer an lyricist of the band).
