Alternatively, she is an android series, that is being updated all the time, due to lack of any other objectives and living personnel. But at the end, Chell is very much alive. Portal 2 must be EP3 mixed, you will play as Gordon and as going through the story you will change between Chell and Gordon, it has to be this way. New name for EP3 Half Life: Aperture Eventually you will meet Chell and help her find the Portal Gun, you then proceed to kick ass.

This is added on to it. The old ending just faded out before this "happened". This was defiantly needed for Portal 2. How could there be Portal 2 if Chell is dead? Valve wouldn't do what MW2 did.
