Is this easier with a controller?
yes
Looks like some mix between lunar lander and linerider. Interesting to say the least
I used to have a Nr.1 time back when this only had one level!
I played the free version in the browser, it's brilliant. Will definitely back it.
This looks like an platofrmer game I would actually enjoy playing
My favorite part are the ghosts of the top ships in each style of play. Not only is it really helpful in figuring out what to do, but it is also fun each playstyle "achievement" has its own leaderboard. I'm not much for leaderboards but I just like the idea that I can play super fast or super light on fuel or not touch anything and have the game recognize that :v: I hope you can make your goals. Sadly with how saturated kickstarter is, I feel like it could be pretty hard to meet them unless you already have a big name for yourself or an extremely grand idea with a small funding goal. Which is sad because you've already got so much of the game done already I feel. How much more would you have to do, and were you planning on doing for it to be fully releasable? [editline]22nd April 2013[/editline] Have you thought about putting up a donation meter on your play website if it doesn't make the kickstarter, so even if it takes awhile to get the $50k you can still slowly donate over time and see the little donation bar go up so that you know you can start working full time once it hits the goal at the end? This wouldn't really work for most games but seeing as you have a fully functioning and fun game right in the browser, it could work out. (that said I'm wondering if the browser-game itself is making this a hard sell because people might be thinking they are paying to kickstart a browser game that is already done :p )

(Right now it's basically curves, pipes and wooden frames) • Online multiplayer, both Race and Combat. • Singleplayer campaign. • A wide variety of rockets to play with. (Vastly different playstyles, not just statchanges) • Team leaderboards and tournament features for multiplayer. • Replay viewer, with support for viewing multiple at the same time. • Achievements and unlockable skins. • ...And the whole bunch of things you might not think of, like making a main menu, allowing for custom inputs, graphics settings, lots of sound, music, and so on Basically that was the plan for the Kickstarter. If it's not funded, the game will probably end somewhere around where it is now, perhaps a slight update to allow the game to be more self-sustained, if it gets a small community. The primary issue is most likely that people simply don't like this type of game really. Our *peak* (Yes, peak) player count was 27 players online simultaneously. Counting us developers, so it was really 25 players. That was shortly after we got the article on Rock Paper Shotgun. We tried to make it quite clear what was left to do in the video, but it did come quite late in the video.
The level editor will be released tonight, so you can both play and create your own levels :) The custom levels are all connected to the database when you upload them, so you can compete on them as well!

how do you know they're cheating? (not saying they arent, JW)
Acegikmo is the penultimate cheater.
It feels less like a racing game, and more like "try not to break the fragile glass on an unstable rocket" Also how come my rocket blows up even if i'm facing the correct way to grind. It just blows up mid-grind on any surface without tilting or anything. It's very beautiful though, I just wish my rocket wouldn't blow up with the smallest friction.
how do you know they're cheating? (not saying they arent, JW)
it was a joke (kind of)
Would any of you be interested in a contest to win standalone access? (Basically, to get the editor and to play custom levels) Doesn't have to be about getting top scores, could be something like, draw a level you'd like to create, or something similar :)
I need to do a video about this game. It's so much fun. Reminds me a lot of sci-fi DustForce. Great audio design too.
Flowstorm is nominated for the "Indie Sensation Award" at Nordic Game Awards 2013! \ o/ http://nordicgame.com/?id=31
I need to do a video about this game. I can't stop thinking about how cool a ship would be that could grind on its left and right sides and not the bottom so you could thrust while you grind. You'd probably have to make it thrust really slowly to compensate, though.

But yeah, it could have some form of drag in the air, like the Rooket.
Keep going back to this every hour or so. Beating your time by a split second is ridiculously addictive.
I can't help but think that it'd be interesting to have rewards for hitting certain clock goals on the official levels.
Are you going to retry the KS or something (assuming it fails)? I feel like you're just now getting publicity.
I can't help but think that it'd be interesting to have rewards for hitting certain clock goals on the official levels.
That's a planned feature :) We'll have medals for each timer: Bronze: Complete the level Silver: Complete the level in less than or equal to <some arbitrary> time Gold: Complete the level in less than or equal to <some shorter arbitrary> time We might have a Ruby medal as well, for beating the author of the level :)
This is awesome dude.
This is really inspiring for someone like myself who's looking to one day breakaway and make my own game. All i've done so far is flash based stuff, this is a whole new level of dedication. Superb game. What happened to the kickstarter though? I wanted to help.
that looks so good, terrible that it was underfunded man.. best of luck in the future this looks like so much fun
I was so hoping this was a new update to the game or you got funding from somewhere.
