My 680 4gb gets me 55-70 fps on BF1, but on low settings with some turned up to medium or high.
Guess it's time to upgrade...
i would wait, even on my 980ti im having issues with the game, its only using 60-80% of my gpu and 90% of my cpu on ultra 1080p, but it still has framerate drops at random. It also seems like its got a memory leak out the ass, and is a lot more cpu intensive than gpu.
[editline]4th September 2016[/editline]
also tons of people are complaining that even their 1070s are having even worse performance.
[editline]4th September 2016[/editline]
and like said in the thread, most games you'll only get around 20fps improvement for a $1,200 card.
I run BF1 on ultra at a fairly consistent 120 fps on a 1070.
It's a beta as well. so keep that in mind.

like i said, gpu has literally no bearing on BF1 it seems unless its a 600 series card. tons of people are complaining that their CPU usage is off the charts and i too have noticed it when i shift it's priority to high, i gain 20fps. meanwhile battlefront and bf4 were at a constant 180/140 fps with the 980ti. Another guy posted that upgrading his cpu completely removed the framedrops and increased his fps massively.
BF1 is just extremely unoptimized.
I can't believe I still get around 60 FPS on high settings in the newest games with my old GTX660. Fucking voodoo magic I tell you, it's not even overclocked.
I have a 660, it doesn't get to 60fps on moderns games when set to high.
[editline]4th September 2016[/editline]
Bf1 gets 45 average for example

Also this video reminds me of that day when I finally got a new PC.
Coming from an AMD athlon x2 with a gts 250 to a i5 4670k with a gtx 660 was super special, finally being able to play csgo at more than 60fps lmao
A gtx 1080 is worth as much as a mid spec prebuilt pc according to the place where I bought most of my components, that feels extremely wrong to me. Could probably be even cheaper if I were to build it myself.

what does it feel like to get two 1080s in sli?

There are very few games that I don't play at 60 FPS and on decent settings. Rise of the Tomb Raider was an exception, I played it at 30 FPS but on highest settings. Because for some reason, the lowest settings only seemed to get to 50 FPS and it was fucking ugly.
i picked up a 1070 today, this is truly what it feels like

can you play doom? On my 680, Doom wouldn't run on anything above low at 60 fps.
I'm quite content with my 980 (non-ti) for now. There's not really any game I can't max out, despite my 1440p display. :joy:
I got a 1080 this week. It's kind of surreal to be in a situation where I can just crank everything up to the highest settings and still get 120+ fps.
I honestly don't see much of a difference with anything higher than 60.
hdmi limited to 60 hz
get a display port monitor/card and a display port cable, you will notice a massive diff between 60 and 120
got a gtx 980 and it plays pretty much everything on ultra w good fps
I can see why people would get the 1080 tho
I have a 780ti but I'm not sure if I should wait to get a 1070/80 or wait for the ti versions
I hear a lot of good about the 10 series though
what does it feel like to get two 1080s in sli?
that you just wasted an extra 700 dollars for poor support and meager frame rate gains.
can you play doom? On my 680, Doom wouldn't run on anything above low at 60 fps.
Sorry, haven't tried it out. For reference some recent games I played were Assassin's Creed Syndicate where I get 50 FPS in average on High/Very High settings, MGS5 The Phantom Pain (60 FPS/High to Highest) and Obduction (60 FPS on Highest). Pretty sure I had 60 FPS on Far Cry 4 at High settings too.

keep it until it dies, i bet the 780Ti is still a very good card

That just doesn't really make sense. My rig had more ram and an ever slightly slower cpu but my computer couldn't that where as you can on a 660?
Sounds kinda fucked
Still feel so happy I went to a microcenter 2 hours before on launch day to get a 1080.
Been worth it.
I dunno, those framerates were still a little low for my taste. Now he needs to make a sequel where he gets a 2nd one to SLI for framerate snobs like myself.

How the fuck is he only getting 60FPS on Doom? My 1070 does at least 180 and never goes below that.
did his 1080 go down to 40 on bf1? running that shit on ultra at 2k with a fury x and it never goes below 70???
can you play doom? On my 680, Doom wouldn't run on anything above low at 60 fps.
???
I have a GTX 680 and I can run DOOM at 60 fps at high settings.
I have 24 gigs of ram and an i7 980x @ 3.3 GHz alongside the 680.
Like I had batman Arkham knight run on my 680, ultra settings super smooth 60 fps since day 1 with that game, the worst port ever
But Doom, the best port ever chugged at 45 fps on high due to lighting settings
I feel the 1060/70/80 series is finally what'll get me to spend money to replace my 570, she's served me nobly for years now but is beginning to really show her age
I think I'll have a viking funeral for her too. since being a space heater is the second best/worst part of the 570 depending on the season, a funeral pyre seems fitting
So from what I'm gathering, this is quite accurate.

I might snag a 1080ti when those come around. Though, the only game I've played recently that really taxes my current system is The Witcher 3, and to a lesser extent The Witcher 2 in full stereoscopic 3D.
what does it feel like to get two 1080s in sli?
As an SLI 1080 owner, not much different, since most games suck at SLI scaling. It's nice to get stable 144 in games like Fallout 4 and Witcher 3 and stuff.

I really don't know, I checked those numbers recently and they're accurate. Maybe it's a lucky rig or something, I don't even know how things work. I just know I checked those numbers with the Steam FPS counter and it's accurate.
I upgraded from a r9 250 to a 1070 and I feel this way too. Except my PSU cant handle the 1070 at full throttle and will crash the pc if I dont limit fps :v:
Time to order a new psu.
I would get a 1080 if I didn't just upgrade to a 970 not even a year ago.
