as someone with a bit less biased opinion seeing as i have no ties to the eastern seaboard, i would like to assert my opinion that New York is probably the best state on it. it's just the most interesting. anything south of pennsylvania is pretty boring or conservative, florida is just an awful place, new jersey is forever known for guidos, massachusetts has boston and mitt romney and nothing else, maine is literally lobsters, and everything i haven't mentioned isn't really worth mentioning
uhh excuse me [t]http://www.williammaloney.com/Aviation/BattleshipCoveNavalMuseum/BattleshipCovePanA.jpg[/t] [editline]4th March 2013[/editline] we also have plymoth [editline]4th March 2013[/editline] also [t]http://www.ussplymouthrock.com/The%20Plymouth%20Rock.jpg[/t] LOOK AT THAT ROCK
I heard Vermont has some nice hills in it.
there are plenty of states with nice hills. hell, vermont can't even really claim the title of cheesiest state. I live in PA. I don't really think there's much notable about the place except really old history things. We have a cracked bell and artery clogging cheese steaks in the general area I live in. Also the Flyers.
Gettysburg is one of my absolute favorite places to visit.
I don't know about anyone else but just the massive amount of people that died there kinda just hit me once I got there. And so did the hotel breakfast.
I don't know about anyone else but just the massive amount of people that died there kinda just hit me once I got there. And so did the hotel breakfast.
I agree on both accounts. As someone who enjoys military history and strategy I find the battle to be of interest, plus The Gettysburg Address is my favorite speech ever, like I read it for fun sometimes. And on top of all that it is an amazingly beautiful location... just all around good in my opinion.
Gettysburg is one of my absolute favorite places to visit.
Despite living in PA I've never actually made it down to Gettysburg. I may have to do that this summer.
Last time I went there was a few years back, it was pretty interesting. When it comes to actually living in the state, though, the only places really worth bothering with in PA are Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, really. Every other place is either a backwater hicktown or an industrial pit where nobody actually lives unless they work in the factories there.
This is accurate. Middle PA is literally indistinguishable from West Virginia. We have a lot of oddities and cool places in middle PA but nothing fantastic. We have things like the gravity hill, poconoes, centralia, State College PA, and some choice hunting. But city wise we have 2. Take your pick (Harrisburg doesn't exist, it's just a myth) [editline]5th March 2013[/editline]
I live in PA. [editline]5th March 2013[/editline] Philadelphia though is a really fantastic city to visit during the summer. We have many many events that take place and Center City is beautiful during the hotter weather. I'm not just talking touring the museum district or the Constitution center. I mean going off the beaten path. We have an amazingly great indie art scene, fantastic bars, a proper legitimate Italian market, minimally piss smelling transport. Great food too, just don't come here for cheesesteaks. And if you MUST have a cheese steak, don't go to pats or genos, or even tony lukes. Those are tourist traps. Good food but they're not the best. Here have this video of a hipster riding his bike with a cat around Philadelphia
lol youre from maine and you said eh
Yeah, so? It's like a questioning eh. Or like a "eehh" because I am seriously sick of the snow. (Although according to about anyone who doesn't live in the northeast Maine is part of canada.)
vermont is the no billboard state
Maine is too. No billboards to be seen here.

the parts of maine that i've been to are beautiful. on the topic of best state: fuck you, we have coffee syrup. enough said.
i went to maine once it was terrible
How do you think I feel? I live there/here. I don't want to even live in america anymore.
i went to maine once it was terrible
Maine's not that bad... so long as you don't go too far from the coast. I knew a guy who did that once, never saw him again!
Virginia represent? How bout that winter storm, eh?
Virginia? Northeast? First time I've ever heard that.
Virginia is the South.
Virginia represent? How bout that winter storm, eh?
Hey y'all.

[editline]5th March 2013[/editline] Also, Philly transit is pretty good, though some Septa routes are worse than others by a wide margin.

Only in the North East can I roll down the windows one day on my way to buy salt for the winter weather coming the next day!
You guys ready for whatever storm might be brewin' down south?
I guess I'm ready as I'll ever be. I don't want any more snow. I hope it turns to rain, or at least the snow doesn't stick.
Hopefully it's not as bad as the last blizzard, my street didn't get plowed for two days.
Storm supposed to be pretty bad. Especially for New Jersey coast :( they're already getting slammed by the ocean and high tide isn't until another 3 hours or so. Oh and the storm is apparently moving super slow since there is a high sitting around Massachusetts and new weather models say it's going to stall near NJ causing the storm to last till Friday.
Goddamnit, Connecticut. They're proposing laws to regulate video games now. It's no longer just crazy people placing blame. It's crazy people in office placing blame.
JESUS FUCK WHAT NO!!!!
