Shrimp dipped in lemon juice. I can't describe how happy the taste and smell of these two simple things combined makes me. [editline]19th March 2013[/editline] I've come a long way from horfing down Hot Pockets and Grape Soda.
This is our national food; in our language it's "Knedlo vepřo zelo" and English is pork dumplings with sauerkraut. Hope you like it. :D (I really don't want to cook, so I just searched for some photo for ilustrate, what it is.
That looks wonderful, Czech cuisine has always interested me. I'm eating a pot noodle

Decided to take a crack at some deep fried jalapenos. Didn't turn out quite like I wanted but it's all a learning experience. I think thin and crispy will be better next time.
Baked some delicious bread, which I'm eating right now. It was so simple and easy to make with only 4 ingredients.
Made this for breakfast. Bacon, tomato, and mayo on a hash brown.
I WANT IT.
Its basically the Paul Hollywood recipe, the written version is here with a video included: http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/paul_hollywoods_bloomer_84636 But the video explains how best to kneed, its great! Would highly recommend baking bread, gonna do another loaf mid week.
Yesterday I had a baked sweet potato with topping made of bacon, red onion, leek, and some cream cheese. Probably the best thing I've had in a long time. Fucking love sweet potatoes. Might have it again tonight.

Anyone here know anything about Pommes Puree - Potato Puree? I'm trying to do the Joel Robuchon recipe but I can't seem to find one close to his. But basically how do I make sure that the puree is stable? I used milk, but I can't seem to get a stable consistency. Its always too runny.
Wow that looks real simple.
It is so easy! And Sorry Ignhelper, I cannot help you, maybe use a starchier, waxier potato?
Decided to make some shredded potato hash with rosemary, thyme and garlic.

Looks like vomit.
From afar. Upon examining it closer, it looks delicious and crispy.
Looks like vomit.
It does, but if it was maybe shaped, it would look more delicious.

Post your food v. everything looks like vomit.
Is that a corned beef Reuben?
So I initially decided to cook a bacon omelette, but then I decided "let's try and make egg-in-the-basket" with the omelette mix. So I took 2 pieces of bread, made the appropriate cuts on the inside, and poured the mix into each piece of bread in the pan. I thusly ended up with a sort of omelette-bread, done in a different style from how one would do french toast, and then decided "fuck it let's go up to 11"; I took a slice of meatloaf out of the fridge (Mum makes some good meatloaf) and fried it, then put it between the two slices of omelette-bread. Finished it off with some brown sauce, and thus my creation reached fruition. Next time however, I think I should cut the bacon a little bit thinner. And no it doesn't look like vomit.
