World of Warcraft is for smart people.
How?
The fact that you had to explain chess of all games in your OP makes me sad.
Poker is a game for smart people and you can actually win some money in the process.
Magic is the most nerdy thing after Pokemans.
This.
Portal is for people who think they are smart but are really stupid.
Dwarf fortress requires some resourcefulness and planning. Of course, you also have to be very masochistic to enjoy it.
I just stopped playing it. Those fucking orcs attacked my fort and killed almost everyone, and then some insane guy goes around throwing tantrums and kicking injured people into the wall. Eventually I'm left with this one angry guy locked up by himself in the fort with a shitload of Orcs camping outside hunting the wildlife and any migrants that attempt to hide in the fortress.
Dwarf Fortress motto: Losing is fun!
Portal is for people who think they are smart but are really stupid.
You don't need to be smart to play it, you just have to have a little common sense.
And it's just plain fun.
Out of curiosity, why do people hate Yu-Gi-Oh so much? I'll agree that the name could be better and that the show completely raped its reputation (I hated the show, so much... even more than Pokemon and Digimon, which says something), but if you weren't a complete buffoon and had even the smallest semblance of a brain capable of higher-order thinking, and actually put together your decks with some actual order and potential strategies, then the game could actually be quite stimulating.
I never really played the game, I more of simply collected the cards when I was younger (hence my having about 500 of them in a large bag sitting under my nightstand) but a few years ago a friend of mine got me into playing it again.
I soon realized that simply throwing together cards didn't really work, so after a lot of trial and error (and learning other peoples' playing habits) I soon developed a deck that, while it doesn't let me win often, puts us into a deadlock.
We've gone hours at a time with no one winning, all thanks to three cards I have in my deck:

http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/yugioh/images/d/d1/SpatialCollapseDR2-EN-C-UE.jpg
And then I like to play this card just to piss people off. I don't know why people hate it so much, but every single time I use it I get swore at. I personally find it hilarious. :v:

Call me a nerd if you like, but it's very entertaining when it's all you have to do due to a power bump as a result of a massive rainstorm whilst friends are over. Thank God my mum makes candles as a hobby. :v:

I saw Mr. T.
:fuckyou:
I personally think that people who call others nerdy are either jealous that they're not as smart as them or just want some way to justify the reason they don't play magic or pokemon or whatever themselves.
I never played magic, but I had a deck I got from my sister's friend at one time.
I'd like to see a card game made that's all online, completely free, and even more strategic/complicated than Magic.
Hearts of Iron III.
Most realistic and epic WWII strategy game. EVER.

Quick paint job and it's done. Anyone else enjoy Sudoku?
Whats the name of that one game where you make a pile of sticks and try to take a stick out without moving the other sticks?
That was hard.
I wouldn't really say Portal is for smart people, but this Magic seems pretty cool.
Yeah, Portal is really quite linear. It takes a bit of smarts to think out just how to get through it, but once you get down into it, you realize it's common sense.
Where the hell is my fucking Monopoly.

Jenga.
these are called Strategy games. You're not a genius, you're just a nerd.
Solitaire.
Digital Combat Simulator: Black Shark.

A challenge of both dexterity, and tactical thinking, DCS: Black Shark is a complete simulation of the Kamov Ka-50 attack helicopter, a coaxial (No tail rotor) helicopter. You play in a huge map of Georgia, destroying armor, anti air, and convoys of vehicles and infantry. You have to fucking think and plan this game. Imagine Ghost Recon, but instead you have to play the damn game while handling flying a helicopter and directing two other helicopters that are easily shot down by anti-air if they get in range, and even by goddamn tanks.
Oh, by the way, it's a complete simulation. If you go too high without engaging anti-ice, you'll plummet and have to auto rotate. Ballistics for EVERYTHING is modeled. It's true to life.

No. It was sticks, not blocks.
With yu gi ho, my deck used to be like half trap cards and i'd just lay down like 20 of those mother fuckers and say fuck you try to hit me now.
:smug:
Garrysmod is for smart & creative people. Idiots who can't figure out the tools, or come up with ideas just run around shooting and exploding. Also, those who can't figure out wire are annoying.

The majority of the Garry's Mod community is anything but "Smart"

Exactly, ever been in a public server? How many people actually build cool things or use wire?
I have to go into single player to build anything because of idiots online.
