Worst Korea spies lighting up earth hour in the west.

I think I should do this Earth hour thing, I just hope the shitty 3DS battery will survive that time.
Heres an idea on how to bring down the pollution levels caused by electricity, we can use nuclear power! Oh wait you don't like that because of the 1% chance it might go wrong, well enjoy being washed away by rising sea levels.
It was around 5pm (and was already getting a little dark) and electricity once went down for an hour or two here (which is extremely rare). We went outside to look whether we were to only ones without power but we saw lots and lots of people on the street, all looking at eachother with a 'wtf happened' and an 'i dunno' face, which was followed by a story of my mom on how they actually had fun back in their times without electricity. We went back home, lit a few candles and shared a few more stories until the lights turned back on. Just wanted to share
I'm going to run a heater and cooler at the same time in protest. I pay taxes, invest in renewable energy, instead of subsiding coal, and then you fuckheads have the nerve to tell me I pollute too much because I enjoy the wonders of a modern world. Fuck you people, seriously.
Rather than doing the exact opposite you could simply do nothing. Your protest makes just as little difference as earth hour does.

Nope, not a chance.
EARTH HOUR CHALLENGE MODE: Turn off not only all your lights and electronics, but also turn off your heating, your water supply, your fridge, and all of your clocks.
Its nice in swimming pools though, I remember last year they didn't close it for the hour, they had only the important stuff enabled like water filtering and stuff, but lightened candles around the pool... Kinda romantic.
OP calls me a prick yet doing what he says would cause more energy to be used after the hour with all the rapid eletronics turning on.
turn off lights for one hour and you've done your share of good for the world and can keep consuming as usual for the rest of the year

The plants will still be producing energy. You are doing nothing.
"raise awareness" everyone's already aware about the climate change. people just think that it either requires zero personal sacrifices (or minimal ones, like turning off your lights for one hour) or that some smart scientist guy will solve it in a few years. and some idiots choose not to believe in it.
The plants will still be producing energy. You are doing nothing.
Plants vary their energy production depending on power usage.
I was going to turn off all the servers but I don't want anyone to get mad at me... :X
One time I had a power outage for like 27 hours, and then the next year for like 15 hours. That is enough Earth hours for life.
I was about to say sure because I thought it said am.
wait earth hour just passed i didnt even noticed
Fuck that.
Wait, it really just passed? [editline]26th March 2011[/editline] I though its in two weeks or so.
One time I had a power outage for like 27 hours, and then the next year for like 15 hours. That is enough Earth hours for life.
I had my power turned off for 3 days straight in 20 degree weather. So I'm set for the next 72 years.
100% of the energy my computer consumes goes to heat, which complements my heater. Practically, the computer won't draw any energy, ignoring the monitor.
It's 8.33PM and no one is giving a shit here.
According to my calculations, this should save enough energy to fully power one of Trump's guest houses for approximately thirty minutes.
But if I turn all my lights and electronics off...what do I do? Ever tried reading anything by candle-light? That shit'll fuck with your eyes.
I turned off all lamps. But i left the tv and computer on. I'm not stupid ;)
Hell, I'll be out of the house for that hour. So, I won't be using any power. The cinema will be using the power. :smug:
