hello all.
so i was wondering, because it would be really beneficial to have a german visa, my dad was born in east germany in 1970 to 2 german parents, moved to australia in around 1984. my mum was born in australia to british parents and i was born in australia in 1993.
what are the chances of getting a dual citizenship? i wouldn't know what my dad's current citizenship status is, but on my birth certificate it says he was from worms.

but to answer it all depends on whether or not your father kept his citizenship
afaik if he got naturalized in australia without obtaining a certificate with "Beibehaltungsgenehmigung" from germany then he gave up his citizenship + your chances. also you may have not really had much of a claim either since you were born in aus and not germany, though im not too certain on that

I'm moving to Germany in July and have a question, I'm trying to figure out the best way to move most of my cash out of my bank account into a German one. I don't exactly want to ask about this when I just move as I have no idea of the fees or other hurdles I'd have to go through first. My current bank is USAA and there's no local banks so it's a bit harder to get clear info. I'd also need to pick out a bank and I'm pretty clueless on the various ones they have to offer in Germany. I'll be moving to Baden-Wurtemberg in the Waldshut area if that makes a difference. Does anyone have experience with moving internationally?
