What I do when trying to recreate an image (NOT through Tracing) is I try drawing the concept and the base of the art, then I color it in with the appropriate colors, I then do some touch ups, I try fixing any imperfections, or flaws in the recreation. That's what I did when I drew my Sniper Rifle on Facebook Graffiti.

And Weeds keeps giving me shit about using the line tool a couple times. Now whenever he does, I just look at this thread and know that my drawings aren't traced. Or that bad.

I'm speaking generally of course, I've never seen any good criticism from Weeds yet.

You yell at people for using line tool when the only good things you have made are traced. And even traced, they aren't that good. :v:
