Nah, I'm kidding :v:, sorry.
Anyways, last night I was playing on the computer and I heard some noises coming from the back of my room, where he was. Eventually I take my headset off and go see, and his head was stuck in the toilet paper roll I had given him to play with..
It was funny, but I felt bad .

yeah make sure you don't use that wheel, he can get his foot stuck between the bars and hurt himself.
Hedgehogs are god damn adorable. You are lucky to have found one, especially one in such need of a home.
it died guys
Don't ever do that again. Unless, of course, it (unfortunatly) should actually happen :ohdear:
Hedgehogs originate from the volcanic regions. They need high temperatures to survive, so keep them in the oven, prefferably at temperatures close to 100 celcius. This works with microwaves too, but make sure to turn the microwave to crispy.
I wants a hedgie so bad! They're so flippin' adorable, but I can't have pets where I'm living.
I shall vicariously own a hedgehog via this thread.

Listen to him...and I agree with him, it's not cool to play like that :smith:
I want a Porcupine and Hedgehog as pets at some point.
When the hedgehog under our house came out to eat I snuck out and took pictures of it. Can't find them now :(
Paint it blue.
I want a Porcupine and Hedgehog as pets at some point.
I don't think you really want a porcupine as a pet
Its quills can detach from the body and they penetrate deep in your skin :v:
Why do they have to be illegal here in California.
Why.
Why.
I would remove that wheel for now to be honest >_>
they really go to run in it and their legs fall into it and it breaks their legs.
That wheel is dangerous for hedgehogs, get one for chinchillas with no holes in it and no bars. It needs to be closed on one side or it might get its nose caught in there while it runs.
And you bought the same litter as I did for mine, same color everything :v:

You need a wheel like this, they make quite a lot of noise though so you might want to mod it with a metal bearing :v:
Don't use that one either, you don't want that rung in the middle because when they get bigger the rung starts constantly grazing against their back.

Get that type. But make sure its not the kind where one side is hollow and it uses a rung to connect the sides, because if the hedgehog trips it will hit her and hurt her.
Nice stuff OP. How is its activity- does it only get active at night? The one I had a long time ago just slept through the day then got active at the night... when I was sleeping :saddowns:
Ahhhh! It's adorable. You should update your first post with the new pictures and videos. I'd love to own one of these guys as a pet. Keep us updated, and good luck to you.
Have you ended up naming it?
As MercZ said, they only seem to get up during the night when everybody is sleeping. Although, suffering from Insomnia I'm the only one awake and I hear her moving around, drinking some water, playing, eating, then she goes back to bed. Most of the day she's sleeping, unless we pick her up or something.
She's really sociable, too. We still need to get her a wheel, but the other pet shop we went to in the city didn't have any good wheels either :saddowns: I'll probably order one online, does anyone have any trusted/safe sites I could use :buddy: ?
I thought this thread had died off, V:v:V
I used to this wheel with my hamster (he was a fat bastard), but it's real quiet and she won't hurt herself in it. It's 12" in diameter, so I don't know if that suits your needs but if it does I recommended it.
What's her name?
Tell me or I'll find you.
Make it your pet!

Seems a bit narrow for a hedgehog.

Depends on the size, all hedgehogs are different.
Some of them will get huge but some will stay quite tiny, like mine. It was no bigger than an big adult rat :v:
I've always wanted one
It's really cute!
I'm jealous :frown:, But i would suggest looking up some care sheets, or ask for help on a animal forum somewhere. One thing i do know is that they can over heat very easily, so you have to be careful about that.
How cute, Get her a male and maybe you'll get little hedgehogs.
It's fucking adorable
Oh my god too cute :3:
It's a FEMALE! Call her Amy Rose!
hedgehogs seem more better to have then a hamster after seeing this thread. adorable.
Makes me want to get a hedgehog, but I can't at college :(
Start to feed it with hedgehog meat. Start it slowly by mixing the meat in it´s regular meals, slowly increasing the portion of the hedgehog meat. When it starts to like the meat, release it to the wild.

Didn't think of it until now and I'm not sure if its been mentioned, but they're illegal to have as pets in some states and cities
