The next companion should be from the 1800s or the 2200s or something. It could be an interesting dynamic and it doesn't make much sense that the Doctor keeps visiting the year in which the episode is broadcast.

Well SORRY for trying to make him seem not like a plot device. Plot devices are boring, and in this case, bisexual. I prefer actual plot / backstory.
I also like Matt. But I hate the new central tube thing in the tardis and the fact that the sonic screwdriver is green.
