Also what the fuck is up with the new Tardis, I enjoyed the show but I just don't like the new look, I want the old one back, after all it didn't change when Tennant came
What happened to Amy's Aunt, do we even know that she really existed? I don't remember Amy saying that she died, so where is she?
I'm tempted to watch some Chris Eccelston episodes again. Am I the only one that missed Chris? Sure David was a great doctor, but he was the doctor for 5 freakin' years.

I also like Matt. But I hate the new central tube thing in the tardis and the fact that the sonic screwdriver is green.
Gotta be honest, when I first saw that central tube thingy slowly moving, I actually thought the TARDIS had a giant dildo powering it's flux capacitor or whatever.
Was that Russell making a cameo fixing the megaphones?
[editline]09:00AM[/editline]
OK nevermind
[editline]09:01AM[/editline]
But anyway, loved the fish fingers + custard moment

I thought I was going crazy again.
Well SORRY for trying to make him seem not like a plot device. Plot devices are boring, and in this case, bisexual. I prefer actual plot / backstory.

edit:
Redheads are a plus too.
Don't apologize; that's one of the reasons that I actually liked Davies' writing style a little bit, he could carry one detail from 4 years ago into the current episode, and it would still make sense. But he's not just a plot device, he's awesome too. That and he's the only American.

When I saw it, I thought "damn Amy is hot"
But that's what I was thinking for most of the ep.

Yes. Tennant was great and all, but he was incredibly inconsistent, one minute grimly narrating the death of his planet, the next hopping around like he overdosed on prozac. Eccleston gave the show a more mature feel if you ask me, and his series was my favourite, although the second one with tennant and billie piper was good too.

Upon first glance, it appears that Steven Moffat will be bringing more of that maturity back to the show.

She never said what happened to her parents either.

OK, just finished watching (on YouTube, because I can't hold myself to wait until the 16th for it to go up on ABC iView).
I liked the 2009 series credits music much, much better.
And what was with Tennant being left out of the montage of the Doctors?

He wasn't left out. If you're talking about the montage in the hologram projected by the big eye thing.
And what was with Tennant being left out of the montage of the Doctors?
He was, and he was on for longer than any of the others. He was being projected when The Doctor stepped through the hologram and said "Hello, I'm the Doctor"

Oh? I thought that was Eccleston. I'll have a look at the section again...
[editline]10:00AM[/editline]
OK, my bad, but that close-up did look a bit strange...
I didn't think it would be anywhere near as good as it was, Matt Smith is pretty awesome as the Doctor. Had just enough Tennent about him yet still a very new take on the role.
Was it just me that thought the click to open the TARDIS means that River Song (or something like that, from the Library episodes) will be returning?
What episode would you people say was creepier, The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances or Blink?
Empty Child, easily. Blink was crap. NOPE SORRY I CAN'T TAKE YOU BACK IN MY TIME MACHINE BECAUSE STUFF

Oh God that episode.
Matt Smith seems like a genuine cool cat. Like in this video http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/dw/episodes/b00rs6t7/videos/p00765d8
The very last comment at the end I lolled

As is tradition, the protagonist finally catches on to what the audience realised twenty minutes ago. Is the ginger woman going to be the new companion? Because she can't act.
Wow. An alien transmitting warning of the destruction of Earth. Never seen that before.
Whoa, industrial!
OH MY GOD SHE'S LOCKED HIS TIE IN A CAR DOOR HOWEVER WILL HE COPE TIES ARE UN-TAKEOFFABLE
WAIT A GODDAMN MINUTE HERE He's a time-traveller. If he sleeps in he can just travel back and sort it out.
"I'm going to send this virus to you computers." Because that's not going to cause problems.
"Duck!" (Ladder crashes through window 8 inches to the left of them)
And this all happened in under twenty minutes?
I'm sorry, when did Robert Burns join the writing team?
How come every alien knows about these horrible future disasters apart from the Doctor? Did he quit the union or something?
7 billion.
Tweed jacket, leather patches. He's a Doctor, not a teacher.
Somehow that scene has managed to erase from my mind the ability to tie a tie.
So the TARDIS can refurbish its exterior but not change it? That seems... loopholey
Aaaaaaand we completely mess up the entire timeline. I EAT TEMPORAL PARADOXES FOR BREAKFAST
WAIT STOP TO PICK UP JEFF
Did he... Did he just hold her out INTO THE VACUUM OF SPACE?

River song has to return. Or the doctor would be a liar.
World population is somewhere around 6.8 billion

She is coming back this series, you can see her in some of the trailers. She's got a two-parter.

oh, ok. She has got one part in half way through the last episode.
I really hope we actually get to see around the TARDIS in this season. I don't recall ever seeing anything but the main room with Tennant and Christopher.

In the Christmas special where Tennant is introduced, we see a short bit of the Wardrobe, but other than that nada.

We saw the wardrobe in The Christmas Invasion but that's it. Word on the street is that we are going to see more in this one.
So I got around to watching The Eleventh Hour, and I smiled and smirked most of the way through. The plot was actually pretty nice, as is with most Doctor Who serials, but Matt Smith, unexpectedly, was enjoyable, as was his companion. The whole [sp]Amy being Amelia thing[/sp] took me a bit by surprise, but I liked it. [sp]And the scene where he confronts the alien and you see all the previous doctors, and Matt Smith steps through was picture fucking perfect for me. Seeing Tennant made me sad, though.[/sp]
Also, "I'VE COMMANDEERED A VEHICLE."
[editline]03:16AM[/editline]
brb buying bow tie because bow ties are cool
Does Smith's Doctor remind anyone else of a Sherlocke Holmes-esque character?

The I HAVE COMMANDEERED A VEHICLE made me cry tears of joy
Watched the first episode yesterday.
I watched the all the Eccleston episodes when they were on, then atleast the first Tennant series.
Other than that I tend to see the first one or two episodes of a series, and then just forget to watch it. It doesn't really hold my interest that much. It isn't that I don't like it, but I just don't feel compelled to watch it.
Anyway, the new one was good. The CGI seemed a bit shit (even for TV) in places, but that can be forgiven. His new companion is hot.
