I posted a comment at some point in the last LIFETIME about how Colin Baker is underatted as a Doctor. It's true. Got the most interesting response.

I got into an argument with a self-proclaimed 12-year-old in YouTube comments. Basically he said that DW ratings were falling and no one watched it anymore. I then pointed out 8 million people watched the episode and it was by far the most-watched program of the night.
He came back with this.

Going to be watching this series soon since I can't go to any forum without this show getting mentioned somewhere.
Anything I should know before watching it? I'm not going to start from the 1960s series since I really can't stand old television shows.(since they had the lowest of the lowest of budgets and are usually nigh unwatchable)

Start from the 2005 series. It re-introduced the doctor quite well apparently, so that's a good starting point.
I despised Russell T. Davis' end for Tennant. It felt like a poor ending to a great run of the man who was the iconic face for the show.

Agreed, the End of Time was awful, AWFUL.

The BBC have a crazy anti-company stance. They're terrified of getting complained about.
The biggest problem with the End of Time was bringing back The Master so poorly and then writing him off as a secondary villain to an author and then the time-lords. Oh and powers? Did they aid the plot at all? The Master works better when we see him slip from situations with pure wit, not iron-man weapons. He could have just as easily picked up the gun after Ten shot the link and shot Rassilon.
The worst part of End Of Time was how RTD wrote a character who is never explained. When asked RTD says "I don't know who she is. She could be the Doctors mother but it's up to your own imagination".
What? He basically said "No idea who she is, I just wrote her in so Tennant has a reason to cry again". God that episode was so self-indulging from RTD.
The only good thing about that entire two parter was when that first line "Legs! Still got legs!" was spoken. It all got better from their. So glad RTD left because although I was a huge fan of Doctor Who, RTDs stories dropped hugely in quality and nearly put me off. Then the Eleventh Hour and it's all good again.

As a state owned copany they have to be completeley impartial to companies, terrified for a reason.

I've created a list of episodes that SHOULD be viewed. Some of these episodes are vital to understand elements of the series, others are just brilliant.
