I just find him more erratic that the other doctors, doing thing even more random than usual. Reminds me a bit of Sherlock Holmes (read some of them and you'll know what I mean).

Waiting for ratings to be announced. I expect a huge drop for four reasons:
- at-least 5 million viewers from the last 5 years were fan girls for Tennant but that's ok. Some of them are over it.
- These plots are a little more for a childs brain to comprehend, I seen many stories of kids walking off halfway in. Plus the kids are fangirls.
- It was on too early. On Twitter Doctor Who wasn't trending because people were watching it, people had missed it. They were tweeting about how they had no idea it was on so early.
- It seems the general opinion of the casual viewer (most the demographic) is that RTD is a god and The Moffs handle on the series is horrific. Which is a damn shame. And wrong.
I loved the last two episodes. I love Smiths doctor the most. I love the damn show. But I expect a ratings drop. We will see. But I expect 6 million ish. And if papers keep forcing people to choose with online polls and tennant fangirls keep vocally hating the show, I expect an even larger ratings drop during the next series and possibly cancellation. And I'm praying to santa it doesn't happen.
p cool, next episode looks WAY better though.

No Dan it's called an opinion, I hated RTDs later stories but his earlier ones are much better than Moffat's current ones.
Also I hope "Victory of the Daleks" actually means they get a sort of victory and are allowed to rebuild and survive, so they don't always need to include an "epic" way of bringing them back, that would be a good move.

The popular opinion is that RTD's early stuff sucked because it wasn't Tennant.

I thought that episode was really weak. Didn't quite have the same slight creepiness, and matt smith doesn't seem quite right either. It really feels like the production team has changed (which, of course it has).

It's a roadworks tent, they used to use them in Britain to cover roadworks to stop holes filling with rain and stuff. In this it was just to hide the thing and tie in with all the corridors looking like a British street in the 1950s.
The tentacles reminded me of the wall tentacles from Metroid Prime 1.

Really? I was immediately reminded of the tentacles in the missile silo from Half Life.
That episode was awesome. Maybe it's a result of me watching Jesus Christ: Vampire Hunter just before I saw that, but it was one of the best 47 minutes of television I've seen. Although the Smilers kinda seemed like they were just there to be creepy.

THIS EPISODE WAS INDEED A PILE OF SPACE WHALE SHIT.
"Star whale......". Stephen. Stephen. Stephen. Turn around and PUNCH RUSSELL OUT so he can't interfere with your writing. Then go down the local, get stonkingly pissed, and have some ideas. "Star whale......". The vomit was, truly, appropriate to express what the viewer was watching.
I don't know what all the anger is about this new episode. I rather liked it. I thought its only problem was that it should have come later in the series, usually that whole 'choice' thing comes later.
