Matt Smith is actually quite tall. You see him ducking to avoid smacking himself on the cabinet ceilings a few times.
Yeah they were made taller so they would be at eye level with him.
Great episode, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm not the type to delve into the canon and such, I just watch it.

Yeah, I'm well aware. I've seen plenty of old Dalek stories and both Dalek movies. I love the movie variant, but I don't like the new new variant.

I keep hoping it will be good, just like Season 4 had a [I]few[/I] shining moments. And the Waters of Mars was simply fantastic. I'm optimistic, deal with it.

I think the new series is in another dimension, the Tardis possibly fell through when it was damaged. I've noticed that Amy doesn't remember the masses of invasions and at the start of the first episode the Tardis flew over the Millenium Dome, showing it was present day, and then nearly hit Big Ben, which was destroyed by the crashing decoy ship in the Ecclestone series.
Not to mention the historical changes during WW2 which would have been mentioned before. (Haven't finished watching the new episode though.)

As I recall, they enslaved the earth in the 22nd century, but I'm not sure if that is canon.
Also, I think this is an absolutely genius move to have Amy forget. Remember in "Dalek"? that episode was shown to be in 2012, but no one in the base knows what a dalek is, even though the whole word was invaded in 2008 (or 2009 I forget).
