whata really bake ya n00dle is why did all the ducks fly/waddle into the 'crack' :raise:
Crack opened near them, they ended up being erased from time because they were so close.
What isn't mentioned is that there was a busload of pensioners there too, but nobody remembers that.
there was?
It's basically written into there physiology that they stop when seen so i guess they're used to it. It's the same as us assuming you can't open a door when it is locked, why would you try? They assume that she will see them in the same way (... actually, that explanation doesn't sound half bad :v:)
Better than the explanation I had in mind, involving tasting to see if something's too hot and if it is hot then it doesn't actually affect the taste (I come up with some really bad analogies :v:)
The way I see it is, they weren't sure if she could see them so they retained their stone form while moving that time just in case she could see them (but moved slowly so she wouldn't notice if she was looking). I really want them to have some 'other' form when they're not being looked at. I've imaged them to turn into some crazy monster that barely looks angel shaped.
Yeah, or the Doctor Who Movie, which was also sucked up by a crack.
I agree, when you see them move across a room in a fraction of a second, and then they move in an almost robot like way in the forest it doesn't make sense.
They're nervous.
Also, what I'm trying to understand is how the Doctor plans on fixing Amy (and subsequently the cracks?) by re-uniting her and Rory. Does he hold some significance in the universal scope of things? I mean, his ID badge was off by some amount of years, so maybe it's Rory, not Pond? And River, whoa. She knew all the Doctor's faces by the time of the angels, and she was still in jail four days before the events of this past story. She killed a man, one who was great to many. One who had significant impact on many people, which could possibly be the Doctor? The only other men that could exist in the 51st century that I could name would be the Master, Rassilon, or Jack Harkness. But Harkness can't die, and (presumably) Rassilon has died in the Last Great Time War. And if River knew that the only way to stop a Time Lord from regenerating was to destroy both hearts, as well as fly the TARDIS solo (which not even the Doctor can truly do) she must have had a close bond with a Time Lord, this, presumably is a later regeneration of the Doctor. The Doctor has thirteen lives (twelve regenerations), so I guess we'll have to wait and see.
No, the one with the Rani. It had Martha and Ace in it.
:psyduck:
How many regenerations has he had so far? i thought this was the last
What pensioners, what angels, and who are these army guys? I remeber none of this. The doctor and the woman and the phwoar assiastaant landed on the planet, helped the crash survivors, ran around in the forest, and went on happily on their way. Exept the woman who was a prisoner.
You're quackers :smug:
How many regenerations has he had so far? i thought this was the last
11. It can goto 13.
Some fans insist that rule doesn't exist but that's bullshit as The Master spent a lot of the classic series trying to find a new body as his old one was running out, and then the rest of the classic series was spent in a new body as a result of this, and after The Doctors body.
So if you retcon the 12 regenerations rule, you retcon most of The Master.
what about that awful plot device when he siphoned the regen energy into the hand. Does that count?
you retcon most of The Master.
Been done.

Moffat says it was just a prop error.
No character descriptions as the "EVERYTHING IMPORTANT SO FAR" section pretty much covers it.

I reacon that The Angels can move and are consious in stone form, but their unseen, superspeedy form is something else, or atleast operates under different rules. Perhaps they moved slow-onsceen becuase they weren't entirely sure if she could see them...

My current theory on that was it was just an arbitrary rule the Timelords enforced to prevent any one Timelord living too long, and causing overpopulation problems and so on.
Somewhat backed up by the Timelords resurrecting the Master for the Time War, but mostly conjecture.
As we near the end of this thread, I'd like to thank everyone for keeping it so active and making this thread the most popular in Film & Television. I look forward to seeing Dan2593's take on the thread.
See you in the next thread people

The Master has never been retconned, it went a bit blurry during the TV movie, but EVERYTHING went blurry during the TV movie. It's one of those "I can't believe it's cannon" moments.
I think this...is related.

Death of River Song :( Her personality seems different here than Series 5, but that's probably because she fell in love with him?
(Jumping the gun to 12th Doctor)
EDIT: Did anyone listen to what River Song said in Flesh & Stone? There was something Amy said then she went 'Not with that face' and we know she hasn't met the 10th Doctor yet, so this implies she's met the 12th Doctor? And the above video, when she explains about her being sent there she mentions a new haircut and 'suit'. Now, the definition a suit is something like the 10th Doctor wears, so I have a feeling that if there is continuity from this scene (above), the 12th Doctor will probably be similar style to Tennant's costume? This is just a thought anyway...

Such an awesome track

Yeahh, using it for a Doctor who video i'm working on :D
Other great themes include
Vale Docem
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exwxYPYuO4Y
10th Doctor's Theme
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REFWjDkftvE
Madame De Pompadour
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YPBRooX2cM
Ahh I think i've worked something out...
When River Song says 'I killed a good man' i'm assuming she 'kills' the 12th Doctor later down the line BUT not as in death, but to cause his regeneration into the 13th Doctor? Hence, why in her death scene she tells the 10th Doctor that he turned up on her doorstep with a new haircut and suit?
EDIT: I'd have said 11th into 12th, but she mentions the other faces of the Doctor when she meets the 10th, so has to be more than one..
Madame De Pompadour

Saw the words "Madame De Pompadour" and remembered this song:

Trock is awesome. :')

And actually, now that I think about it, the Doctor's relationship with Madame De Pompadour/Reinette is very similar to the one with River.
They meet several times through her life, but it's never the same amount of time between for each of them.(a few minutes to a year with Reinette, a year or two in the future to several years before with River)
I don't know if this is true or not but apparently the Christmas special the doctor catches a cold and turns into a girl!
Also good news if you didn't already know both matt smith and Karen gillan act throught the sixth series
I am kind of hoping that they will do a crossover speical where Matt Smith meets David Tennant...
...that would be pretty cool.
Since Amy remembered the pond being a duck pond, but had no reason too (presumably from the crack in her wall); is it like how she still remembers the angels that were annihilated by the time energy? And if so, does this imply she had traveled through time before she went with the The Doctor? Otherwise she would have forgotten entirely about the duck pond, like the cleric did about the other clerics.
From how I see it.
Dude, this show was never meant to be thought out, the crap ya'll are coming up with has blown my mind, still can't believe that amy tried to have sex with the doctor, that surprised me and made me laugh.
