Okay, let's keep on topic here now ;)
Indeed. It's tomorrow! Can't wait for it! I've seen most of the episode in clips though.
Indeed. It's tomorrow! Can't wait for it! I've seen most of the episode in clips though.
Well, in roughly 15 minutes they're showing The End of Time Part 1 & 2 back to back on BBC Three!
Ah, I can't remember where I've seen that new companion before. I swear I have though. Also what constitutes Spring 2010? I've April? [editline]07:39PM[/editline] It might've been the Hot Girls thread actually.

What episode would you people say was creepier, The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances or Blink?
What episode would you people say was creepier, The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances or Blink?
For the aspect of fear, if I had to face one would be the Angels. It's our human instinct to blink. Although they both have the same way to get you, by touching. I'd be more scared of the angels because when you see them they are stone and you can't kill stone. Although, basing on the episode I enjoyed the The Empty Child more and thought that seemed a bit more darker.
What episode would you people say was creepier, The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances or Blink?
They both are creepy, the 'Are you my mommy?' voice still creeps me out but the ideas behind Blink could easily be used for a Ring type horror film.
Well what the fuck, every picture I've seen today of the Doctor's new companion features her in a short short skirt. Even a fucking police uniform. It feels like they're promoting her sexuality more than her character right now. Also, I hope you do a good job, Matt Smith.
My favourite episodes to date have to be Human Nature and The Family of Blood. Such brilliant episodes, they're based off a book, which is why Davies didn't fuck it up.

David Tennant > new doctor New doctor = shi* David Tennant = Loveness
Only about 19-20 hours until the new series begins... Blimey, it really seems long, even in hours...
David Tennant > new doctor New doctor = shi* David Tennant = Loveness
TennantDoc = never stops going on about how hoooooomans are BRILLIANT!! and saying "I'm sorry, I'm so so sorry", caters to fangirls.
TennantDoc = never stops going on about how hoooooomans are BRILLIANT!! and saying "I'm sorry, I'm so so sorry", caters to fangirls.
Not even a fan, my friend is though..
I liked Christopher Eccleston more. "BUT YOU'RE FROM THE NORTH!!!" "Lots of planets have a North!"
David Tennant > new doctor New doctor = shi* David Tennant = Loveness
Are you saying that Love & Monsters, Fear Her, Runaway Bride, The Unicorn and The Wasp, The Next Doctor, Planet of The Dead, End Of Time PT1 and PT2 were "loveness"? God they were terrible. Some of the worst episodes of Who. The only reason Tennant has topped Tom Baker in the Best Doctor Who chart is because of Tennant fan girls/gays. So obsessed with watching Tennant run around laughing and joking with bad guys to even notice a terrible story. Tennant is a great actor. BRILLIANT Actor. But I really didn't like his Doctor during that last year. The moment we had the fake regeneration was it for me. The Tennant doctor was dead. He was constantly inconsistent with his feelings for Rose, he was way to charismatic for his own good and he wasn't weird. At all. I know each doctor is different but he needed a bit more crazy. Ten became a sad show to watch. 11 on the other hand. Matt Smith has had far more better teaching in the arts then Tennant. And Matt Smith hasn't aired yet. So before you come on here singing songs about your faviroute pretty boy. Stop. Think. Remember that Tennant is a tiny spec in a show that has been running for 47 years. It went 44 years without him, and will go on millions of years more without him too. This is the Doctor Who thread. Not the "I <3 Tennant" thread. Don't come here judging Matt Smith without seeing him in action either. Considering at first how everybody was against smith, and now it's just a handfull of Tennant brown nosers. Smith is doing pretty well. He is the doctor. He will always be the doctor. In 47 years when some kid is looking at Wikipedia at classic doctors he will see Smith. And he won't draw and difference between Smith and Tennant just like how we look back now and consider all the classic doctors in the same regard. Smith is the Doctor. Tennant is not the doctor. The show will go on if Smith is godly or terrible. Live with it. I love you, Dan.

The fact remains in his better episodes he was brilliant, his over the top charisma was his weirdness. It was very hard not to get drawn in to everything he did, no matter how unimportant the task he was doing was and how much you hated his companion (Catherine Tate mainly) he managed to make it fun to watch. The Human Nature and Family of Blood story shows why he made such a good doctor, the near bipolar switch between ecstatically happy when he blew up the ship and great, deep anger when he punished them just made him brilliant to watch. DT was a bit like James Bond, the girls love him and the guys all have a slight bit of jealousy due to his natural charisma. EDIT: Oh and I disagree with people slating Matt Smith as the Doctor, the clips can't really show what sort of doctor he will be. Just have to wait till tomorrow.
Donna Noble was much more interesting than Martha Jones, tbh.
Donna Noble was much more interesting than Martha Jones, tbh.
Her character was but Catherine Tate made me want to rip my ears off and then stick a pen into the holes left on either side of my head.
We need an alien companion again.
Her character was but Catherine Tate made me want to rip my ears off and then stick a pen into the holes left on either side of my head.
Compared to Billie and Freema. She was the most powerful actor to take the role. Best character development ever. [editline]02:04AM[/editline]
We need an alien companion again.
Is River Song human? Jack isn't. I wonder.
I loved Tennant's Doctor, I think it was the terrible scripts that ruined some people's view on him. He was brilliant in Human Nature/Family of Blood and even better in the 2010 specials, especially The End of Time. There's also a reason he won NTA's Best Actor award 3 years in a row. The more I see of Matt Smith's clips, the more I look forward to seeing the next series. He looks like a very promising Doctor, although I'm not a fan of 'Geronimo'. From what I've seen, I really like his crazy acting style, some of it reminds me of Tennant, others of Patrick Troughton (the second Doctor).
Steven Moffat said he only says 'Geronimo' twice in the whole season so you don't have to worry about that.
Whereas in the last one the doctor compensated for the companion, this time the companion compensates for the doctor.
