Plus if there's like, hundreds of them coming for you, you're basically fucked.
Run away then. Or get in a car and mow your way through them. (Not going to kill them but it will let you through)
Run away then. Or get in a car and mow your way through them. (Not going to kill them but it will let you through)
The roads won't exactly be clear after a Zombie Apocalypse, and hitting even four or five zombies will slow you down, remember you are giving up speed by hitting them. Also, how far are you going to run until you have to stop? How far until you can't lug your weapons anymore? Zombies may be slow, but they never tire, what are you going to do when you have to sleep?
Well, I'd prefer the slow ones, I walk faster than everyone I know, shambling zombies won't be able to catch up, and also as I live Not too far from Wales I'd just camp up on one of the Mountains.

Plus a car isn't as powerful as a tank. If you're plowing through hundreds of zombies the car isn't going to go through like a knife through hot butter. It will slow down going over bodies and stuff. Plus if the windshield or another breaks because of zombies hitting it, then that's a very easy way for them to get in, especially if you're not going fast enough because of all the zombies in the way.
I reckon that in a realistic zombie scenario the infected would be able to run till rigor mortis and other stuff sets in, then they'd become shamblers.
I've never really seen sprinters in massive numbers in popular culture, that seems to be more of a shambler thing. I guess that would add to their scariness, at the cost of suspense.

Oh yeah and shamblers can't climb so I can go find some ladder, climb a building, and then either pull the ladder up or kick it off. (or leave it, for other survivors)
I think slow zombies are the most fun to kill. I also like the twitchy enemies in Silent Hill, pretty creepy.

If there was a zombie invasion, I'd go to Taco Bell. [editline]12:33PM[/editline] or Subway
When you think about it, close combat weapons would be fairly useless unless they were long. The zombies would just Grab you, and that's you gone.
That's where everyone will try to go, including those who were bitten.
Fuck :( I'd just camp on the roofs of houses until rescue helicopters roll by then. I can live off things I scavenge from the streets (as long as I plan my route carefully and execute it swiftly)
But no one can find you there. You can't live there for the rest of your life!
Actually, That mountain is near Snowdon, So there is general civilization in the area.
Wouldn't getting away from people make more sense though? Less people around, less people to get infected.
Admittably, I also have a soft spot for Sprinters, but only the ones from either the Morningstar Strain novels or Left 4 Dead. However, after reading World War Z, it's hard for me to think that Sprinters are scary.
Indeed. Left 4 Dead and Zombieland both pose great Sprinters, but World War Z made me jizz in my pants. slow every time. why the fuck would you want something running after you ???
This may be late but actually slower zombies are argued as more realistic because tissue and muscle decay would prohibit the run function
Fast Zombies that over time become slower. Unless it's like Half Life Zombies, where the body is actually mutated to become deadlier. As long as the way the zombies work makes sense in some way I don't care.
I think sprinters are much scarier, because there's less chance of you outrunning them, imagine fleeing, unarmed from around a dozen sprinters, knowing that you're running out of breath, that you need to stop soon, it's terrifying. Shamblers are only scary if it's dark and you're surrounded IMO.
Fast zombies are just unfair.

And usually, there's a LOT of them.
shamblers that will run only when needed to ,imagine that your jogging away then all of a sudden the fuckers run at you.
I reckon that in a realistic zombie scenario the infected would be able to run till rigor mortis and other stuff sets in, then they'd become shamblers.
this is a beautiful, sexy idea.
Sprinters are scarier because they can just come out of seemingly nowhere while the slower ones are easier to see coming.
I like it when there are both in the same setting. Fast zombies are freshly infected, or even ones in advanced stages of infection (depending on canon) and slow are the opposite.
