Some of my shit
I'm not quite done with it yet, but what I have left is just tweaks and small adjustments that doesn't change anything in a big way and I don't have the time to work on that before 2 weeks later.
So my exam project was to design a website for a studio (real client, one of the music teachers in our school who also runs a studio needed it) called Audioskop, creating the logo, deciding on typography, colors and all that jazz. Also had to learn how to work with databases and wordpress (beyond just downloading a template and using it as is) for the first time, so that gave me some great hurdles to overcome.
It's a small studio which values it's old-school instruments (most of it's clients makes folk music or similar), being laid back and welcoming, having good equipment and a sun-filled studio. He wanted a more vintage or classic style on the website, absolutely not minimalism at least, and he was completely against scrolling (he always disliked it when he visited other studios websites and had to scroll, also if he had to flick through photos on a slideshow), the type and logo was more desired to be clean like letterpress, just as long as it's not a industrial clean minimalistic abstract logo.
So anyways, I am good at saying way too much, this is what I came up with so far:

(yes, you're supposed to click the image)
I like the logo, clean and simple and scandinavian
not sure about the weird buttons for the klientslist

I don't really like the wooden background. It takes away all the focus.
Not sure what to do though, since he didn't want it minimalistic.

I just realized I didn't give anything positive on it :v:
It's overall an easy to use site, but I want to pinpoint the things that I would personally change as that is more helpful than saying "OMG, IT'S BEAUTIFUL" :)
Also: You should make the whole image clickable, not only the ribbon:

Can shapes be easily resized like vectors without losing quality?
Also what special properties to shapes have and share?

In Photoshop cs6? Yes.
(Pretty sure the same goes for CC)
I didn't quite understand the last question, but:
- Shapes can be transformed with multiply tools too form the shape.
- Shapes have an inner stroke which doesn't lose quality on re-size.

403 Forbidden.
First real design I've ever done with a mass-audience. The photo is extremely shitty because it's one of those digital billboards and it doesn't react to cameras well.

If you want to see what it REALLY looks like, just go to http://www.buccaneers.com and that first splash page is basically the same thing (which I finished the day after this)
The text looks a wee bit small, but it's nice overall. :)
Anyway, any better Ideas for the font here? It's currently PT Sans Caption.
What about the color?
This is what I'm going to be publishing Android games under. They all have just a hint of wacky in them.

why use pt sans caption? why not use a display version?

I don't know very much about fronts, but I don't think there is one.
Take away the border and it will instantly be much better.

this and watch your leading with "big blue games". it may be mathematically correct but due to ascenders/descenders theres really awkward spacing
Is this any better?
Now the little version kinda looks like the Marlboro logo.. I might just drop it altogether.

Hi guys, I made this flyer for a event at my school, it's in portuguese, but in the left it says "Paulo Freire's Week 8 May at ETESP" and under that "Dance - Panels - Theater". What do you think? (Yes, it's outdated, but I wanted an opinion)

Great colours! Love the typeface too, good stuff
Quick question for you design gurus (I didn't think a thread was necessary) how would you refer to this particular style?

Just the era would be fine but if there's a specific name for it that'd be even better.

1960 Retro-Futurism?
Are there any websites I can find that give graphic design based tasks? If that makes sense.
I want to expand my skills/portfolio but I don't think I'm good enough for commission work (mainly 'cuz I'm used to working with only two colours)

99designs
chock full of people wanting cheap design jobs done with professional quality.
A good place to find interesting ideas for what to do if nothing else.
Been doing several kiosk wraps for all the malls closest to Tampa. This is the first one I've seen up.
There's a couple fuckups on this that the printing company made from my original design, but nothing too serious.

It's very sloppy and not done in vectors, but I had fun working with basic shapes.

Been putting this together for the past couple of evenings, just decided to do some Photoshop work while I've got some free time.
I like to make album art when I'm bored and see a cool image and get some ideas... good or bad, I enjoy making them. :)
