Kinda need help here.
So, I got involved in some 'Public Art' group. For a bunch of 'artists', none of us know jack shit about computer graphics design and I was tasked to design a logo for the group.
Right now this is the basic shape I'm going to go with.

Its its uncreative, bland and lacks impact. Its made in paint but I do have access to photoshop.
I'm not a graphical designer but I had some fun. Feedback's appreciated.
Thanks, I'll try to find another font for that part. I think you're right.

I can't for the life of me figure out how to do that kind of texturing, any tips?

I also did some simple character designs for a Halloween event my university is hosting:

It was fun, first experience in it.
Did some more work on that first logo..

I personally wouldn't use black as font color. A dark grey perhaps?

Duly noted.

Lightened up the text a bit, made it a bit less heavy in style and went with a more dynamic second line.

It's pretty much a blue Saturn logo, but other than that it looks nice.

wtf had to google that because I didn't even know what their logo was, the resemblance IS pretty striking haha. Saturn was before the time when I was even remotely into cars. Their logo accomplishes something different IMO, with the "planet" line appearing to be fully circular and linear in width to draw attention to itself. I wanted to create the illusion of windy roads that receded in space so both lines had to match up in order to create the illusion. Interesting observation, I think it's pretty cool how close they are without me having known what their logo was. In fact I started off with a single road forming a triangle at first. I may post my sketches just because someone may find it interesting. Speaking of that, why does nobody post their sketches in this thread? I think it's very neat to see how somebody got somewhere.
It's for a very linear school assignment. We'll be animating it in AfterEffects in a very specific way that's a bit cliche...
Yo guys, I'm not a graphic design artist at all, I've just been going on what I think looks alright for some minimalist cover art for an EP that I'm making.
I'd really be intrigued as to what you guys think I could improve on with this thing:

Morgan Hicks... that sounds familiar...
OH RIGHT. I remember really enjoying your "Street" album.
That cover looks really neat. I'm not a graphic designer so I can't really professionally critique it, but the colors work well together and the layout is clean and pleasant to look at. Only I'd personally change would be the font color, as it sort of blends into the background maybe too much?

The black is distracting and draws attention away from the rest of it. A light shade of pink would help it fit in, kinda like this:

Good design otherwise!

Now that you mention it, I 100% agree. Thanks a bunch man, you have no idea how much this helps
Don't want to bother you guys but would any of you care to help me out? I need to design a logo/sign to make into a big car magnet to put on my truck for a local airsoft team and I was wondering if you guys could throw something together? I'm pretty poor at this sort of thing.
Made some silly Gmail logo/Mail Logo

Hey, guys! Been following this thread for awhile and there's some really great stuff here. Thought I'd throw in one of my design projects. It's CD cover art and a Tshirt made from the cover.

So I just started an Illustrator/Photoshop course and wanted some critique on my latest image. It's supposed to utilize negative space much in the same way Noma Bar does his pieces. My instructor is pretty particular about smooth linework so that's something I'm primarily worried about.

[sp]The idea is: "To kill two birds with one stone" essentially.[/sp]
(Link for image if it fails to load)
But is this any associated for Buy RS 3 Gold the WOW gold? Of course. As we know, the gold is typically devote concerning the gears, and we typically get probably the most effective gears from raiding. the instant we possess the dungeon Journal, just about every man inside the raiding will know what they should unquestionably do or what they need to Cheap Old School RS Gold spend attention. this could make the raid easier. So a whole whole lot more gamers will get items and pieces from raiding. gamers will require a whole whole lot more gold for the brand new gears.

I guess this belongs here. So I'm getting back into illustrator and I have a basic understanding of most of the tools but I'm having trouble with the pen tool. Basically I want to create highly detailed vector shapes and lines but I can't seem to figure out how. Here is an example of what I'm talking about:

If anyone knows of a comprehensive tutorial that would be great! I apologize if this is the wrong place

the 'napalm' font on the shirt looks really off to me for some reason. that, and the track titles being stretched on the fence. but other than that, great work! love the consistency

Looks good, but I might suggest using the biggest line weight for the text, the next biggest for the head, and the smallest for the candy behind the head to emphasize the depth more. Right now the hierarchy is a bit off, it seems a bit flat somehow. Also, the candy line is a darker colour than the head.
Is it "Chloe's Candy Buffet!" or "Chloe's Candy - Buffet!"? Im reading it differently
What did you use to make this?
I just used photoshop.
