Everything that I've worked for had led up to making the face cursor, all other creative endeavors are irrelevant.
I make a newsletter thing that gets hung in all the bathrooms the dorms at my university.

I feel like this one came out really nice! (The zombies and airplane are stock; I did everything else)
Literally the pen tool is such a bitch I have this sketch that I want to turn into a vector but the pen tool is actually such a bitch that I am probably going to uninstall Illustrator because it is so fucking stupid fuck the pen tool

Learn to love the pen tool
It can be your best friend
It is stupid and makes no sense and I just need to make this illustration really bad but I am incapable
Ok so design is not my forte but I was asked to make a website by a relative for her business. I was given a logo and this mockup is what I've come up with so far, if someone has some critique/suggestions about improvements I would appreciate it.

edit: pen tool rocks as long as you don't have it auto-fill the path like that

Howdy peeps. Creating a logo for a client, but my computer at work (for whatever reason) is severely gimped in typefaces.
Doing some searching, and perhaps the hunt will go easier with some help. Anybody have any suggestions for a "clean, fancy-ish, yet modern-looking" typeface?

I think instead of recommending you a specific typeface I would instead recommend you to check through places which have generally high-quality typefaces available. Especially since what we look for in a typeface can be completely different, just the way a single letter is shaped can ruin it after all.

Made a logo for a game developer, working with them on their first title, exciting!!
[t]http://i.imgur.com/pIh7wPf.png[/t]
the first title involves a pseudo sports-like game where the ball explodes if the players hold it for too long, I tried to reflect that on the logo with a "literal" nuclear football
heavily taking inspiration from the united front games logo
[t]http://i.imgur.com/pIh7wPf.png[/t]
The bomb ball is a strong concept. I think the visual hierarchy would be more coherent if you centered the bursting ray behind the football bomb. Also the stars that bracket 'Kickin' Rad' are confusing as they mirror the same pattern as the rays and yet don't serve any aesthetic purpose. I think less font would balance the logo. Maybe use the larger display font and utilize that green to break up the orange?
I also think that Kickin Rad should probably be more accented than GAMES.
I also question the use of the football since pinning such a strong symbol onto a developer might make them seem limited to sports games only. It causes them to lose a large potential audience in the future should their endeavors be non sports-related.
Many gamers are literally offput by sports even lol. For the specific game art, however, it's great!
If anyone here uses flash, in the next update they are going to make the brush scale with zoom, only took them 10 years.
Made a custom box-cover for Halo 1 on the PC, this computer only has Photoshop Elements so I'm pretty handicapped atm, and I'm feeling completely stumped with the back.
Be has harsh as you deem with criticism, pls.

Edit: changed the colors a fair bit, added alternate team versions. I am actually pretty happy with how it turned out.

Made this today outta boredom.

Was made out of a sketch I did in my notebook. Colored with a mouse (tablet left home) so bare with me here :v:
Don't know if I posted this here yet, another flyer for a friends party.

Fixed?
yup
looks great, by the way
So after being spoiled by my college's up-to-date Illustrator CC, I am wondering if there are any free illustration programs that are better than Illustrator CS6 in a similar way that CC is. Every time I use my CS6 I miss all the shiny new features of CC, like being able to see the line you are about to create using the pen tool before you actually click, and being able to turn corners into rounded corners, and stuff like that is just really nice to have.
I would go out on a limb and say that finding a FREE program better than an Adobe program is probably not an easy feat. Some of them get close, but I haven't ever found one that surpasses one, myself.
I know how you feel though, I have to work with Photoshop CS6 Elements at work, so annoying when you are used to the straight up version.

Also, been unfortunately inactive on this thread for a while, busy at work with non-graphic design stuff.
Anyways, here is a rendering I did for work; helped out with basic design of the building & material choices, then I modeled it and photoshopped. Some issues with it, but my material to work with / from was very limited.
(Created in Photoshop Elements as a side-note)

Here are some illustrations I created for a company called 'Jordan's. I was asked to create a series of illustrative A5 postcards to represent and promote the locations at which they operate business around the globe.
The Jordans Group are basically a team of lawyers, accountants etc who wanted to go off brand a little whilst promoting their company.

I don't like to selfishly promote myself but the full project can be found on behance here: https://www.behance.net/gallery/20675487/Jordans-Postcard-Illustrations.
Hope you like it :) This was the first time I had the chance to do some illustrative work in this style.
