Well I think it's because that was the first time they've ever been exposed to cameras so I doubt many would know how to pose for them. That's just my little thought though I could be wrong.

I am quite happy that the USSR was established, I just wish they'd drop the communist dictatorship bullshit and simply live in a union where resource are equally distributed between all those who are involved. But no, Stalin just had to fucking go ahead and take command, completely fucking everything up.
For all the pictures with towns and cities, I keep looking for cars. I just can't stop looking for cars and it's driving me crazy.

the one I thing I personally hated about the USSR was, even over the whole dictatorship and corruption issue, was the eastern bloc housing style. I mean, just because you live in a bit of a grim place, doesn't mean you have to make it even uglier with nothing but right angles and grey.
