If it's a collie/shepard, you can expect him to be very smart. Those dogs like to be entertained all the time, and if you don't entertain them, they'll find a way to entertain themselves. And you won't like it.
(eg. Killing the neighbour's animals, digging holes in the garden, ripping stuff to shreds, etc.)
On the plus side, since they're smart, they're easy to train.

Yes, they do. I swear, every time I let my Border Collie/Newfoundland mix Misty out, she wanders off. Even if there is a fence. Always get dogs microchiped. If they run off, it is the best way for a vet to find out who it is.
