DarkSin - Thanks! But I'm not the vocalist, I'm the drummer! However I showed him the message, he was pretty blown away, it was his first time in a vocal booth.
Ah, your Tama Superstar Hyperdrive is sick, I was going to get one but I got a sweet 5 piece acrylic set instead.
Do you have the deeper bass drum on yours?
(I'm the one that commented on your video by the way.)
Really like your stuff so far can't wait to hear your other songs. Change the name though, the current one isn't going to get anyone interested.
That was pretty damn good. Just turn the guitar up a bit. Definitely a lot better than other attempts at this genre.
Heh. I found Parkway Drive to be the worst of the name. It screams "metalcore" to me. Architects makes me think of technical metal, and Bury Tomorrow makes me think deathcore.
Broken Silence makes me think metalcore, too. Though I suppose that's a bit accurate, since you're metallic hardcore. However, when I hear "Broken Silence", I don't think "metallic hardcore", as in a fusion of heavy metal and hardcore punk. I think "metalcore," the label given to many mediocre bands who try to be hxc by using repetitive riffs, uncreative lyrics, and br00tal breakdowns.
Aka crap.
Sorry to say. Also, people get a lot out of a name. For example, if your friends were to say, "Dudes! You have got to listen to this band, The Poodles! They're amazing! I love them!" you wouldn't be expecting something like brutal death metal.
Parkway Drive screams metalcore? lul wut?
The name came from the street in Byron Bay where I think one of the guys lived or where they first started playing/practicing.
Judging bands on their names, moronic to the highest degree.

Oh! Hey again, yes it indeed the slightly deeper than normal one, I was fed up of my kick not coming out right in previous recordings I had done, and I think I picked the right kit this time because as you said, It sounds like a cannon!

Thanks! We're still finding our feet and sound at the moment, we're doing 3 songs one of which you've heard, our next one is heavier and slightly more technical and then the third being slightly more laid back and melodic, we're going to see which one we do best.
I've already started putting drums to our next song, but this time we're going into the studio to do 2 songs instead of 1, so the wait will be a little longer unfortunately.

am I "moronic to the highest degree" if I don't like parkway drive for any other reason?

If that is the only reason that you dislike a band and miss out on the enjoyment of the music they create then yes, yes you are.
I could bitch about band names all day long, but at the end of the day it's their choice and it doesn't change my view on the music they create. I refuse to miss out on listening to a band purely because of their name choice no matter how unfortunate it may be.

Awesome shoegaze band.
I love the mix of yelling and growls, I really hope you guys keep that same style.

We're definitely keeping that, we were all happy with how well it sounded together.
