Yep

I've read in an article once, about 10 years ago that the band uses up almost the entire revenue from concert tickets to use all those pyro effects for each show. Which is why the concert tickets are so expensive.
I hope I get to see him in Dallas this month. Taking some crazy busy classes, but they are an amazing band to see live apparently.
They are exceptional live; have seen them thrice now and would still go to another one of their gigs in a heartbeat, shame they aren't playing in the UK at all.

[sp]Is this against the rules? It's not age restricted.[/sp]
Jokes aside I would love to go see them, their pyrotechnics are off the hook, their flame masks have always been my favorite. Also IIRC Till himself is a pyrotechnician.

Rammstein are pure showmen live and they strive to have you leaving with a huge buzz afterwards.
Paris is easily their worst live release. It doesn't help its case that the band themselves seem to disapprove of quite a few of the choices made in it. It's cluttered with random special effects, and the CD version of it has the sound played when the title cards appear kept in.
Love the band, but not so much Jonas Åkerlund.

But Pussy had a brilliant and funny music video, so did Ich Tu Dir Weh and those were both made by Jonas. I think he's just much better at doing studio work than live material

As far as the music videos are, he did well on them, but eh, seeing what he did to this film kind of put me off; it was less about Rammstein and more about what wacky editing tricks Jonas could pull off. Nevertheless, you're probably right about him being better with studio material.

I've seen some of the songs from the Paris live show and holy shit, what has Akerlund done? He cuts pretty much all the time. There is at least 1 edit every second. He barely let's us some room to breathe. It's cutcutcutcutcut all the time..
Definitely their worst live Bluray/DVD. They need to get rid of Akerlund. Ich Tu Dir Weh video was already a huge letdown. Pussy was alright.

lol it won Best National Video so I mean, I know you're angry but you don't have to go and say things that are objectively wrong just to justify your frustration

Where did it win Best National Video? Also it's just a performance video which are always just lazy. Story videos like Haifisch are much better. And I'm not "angry" or "frustrated", I only said that Ich Tu Dir Weh was a huge letdown.
edit: Do you mean Echo awards? I hope you realize that the stuff that wins awards there are always just the most successful. They aren't awarding objectively good videos and things.
Ich tu Dir Weh sold very well which is why it won Best National Video. It's one of the biggest weaknesses of Echo and they refuse to change it. The most successful artists win awards not the objectively best, they just look at the numbers instead of the quality.
In any category, out of 5 artists, the most successful one will get the award. It's so predictable.
And my opinion doesn't get "objectively wrong" just because some award show puts money over quality. When I compare Ich tu Dir Weh with Haifisch video, the winner is absolutely clear. Ich Tu Dir Weh ist just a simple performance video.
I enjoyed Rammstein:Paris simply for the audio, we haven't had a good recording of songs like Mutter and WIDBIFS in ages, and really wanted something that brought them to life. I will admit Jonas is cut crazy, watching the film in the cinema got nauseating after a while and many people comment the same thing on Facebook & YouTube ( think they disabled comments because of that ). Its at least one cut every beat. I don't mind the special effects, combined with the humor and Till's quips, it just adds another funny layer to the entire performance
