Recess

Recess is an American animated series that was created by Paul Germain and Joe Ansolabehere, and produced by Walt Disney Television Animation. The series focuses on six elementary school students and their interaction with other classmates and teachers.
Recess portrays the lives of six fourth graders as they go about their daily lives in a highly cliched school environment. The students of Third Street School have set up a microcosm of traditional human society complete with its own government, class system and set of unwritten laws. They are ruled by a monarch, King Bob, who has various enforcers to make sure his decrees are carried out. The little society has a long list of rigid values and social norms that imposes a high expectation of conformity upon all the students.
Recess is illustrated to be a symbol of freedom—a time when the kids can express themselves and develop meaningful relationships. Most episodes involve one or more of the main six characters seeking a rational balance between individuality and social order. They are often defending their freedom against perceived threats by adults or social norms. The group's leader, T.J. Detweiler, tends to have the most complete vision of this struggle, though even he has times when he inadvertently leads the group too far toward an extreme of conformity or nonconformity.

The Ren and Stimpy Show is an American animated television series created by Canadian animator John Kricfalusi. The series concerns the adventures of the titular characters: Ren Höek, a psychotic "asthma-hound" chihuahua, and Stimpson J. Cat, a dimwitted Manx cat. They wander around having nonsensical adventures in a surreal style reminiscent of the Golden Age of American animation, especially the 1940s cartoons by Bob Clampett and Tex Avery. The Ren and Stimpy Show premiered on Nickelodeon on Sunday, August 11, 1991, and was the third of the three original Nicktoons (Doug and Rugrats having debuted earlier the same day). The show aired new episodes on the channel from 1991 to 1996. The Ren and Stimpy Show had a reputation for indecent humor. The controversy was mainly a result of imagery and violence as well as language and sex references.Episode names included “Stimpy’s First Fart.” In 1992, MTV Networks dismissed Kricfalusi and production moved from Kricfalusi's Spümcø studios to Games Animation, where it stayed until its cancellation for Nickelodeon in 1996. Reruns are broadcast currently by Nickelodeon Canada, Australia and Nicktoons. Three episodes of the show were banned by the Nickelodeon censors: "Man's Best Friend" (later appears in Ren & Stimpy "Adult Party Cartoon" cartoon); "Sammy and Me" (banned for the part where Stimpy gouges his eye out to insert a fake eye); and "The Last Temptation of Ren" (banned because it was to air with "Sammy and Me"). These episodes aired on MTV in later years. The show now airs a marathon on Nicktoons on weeknights, along with Rocko's Modern Life and CatDog.
There's already been done countless nickelodeon threads and if you want to start a disney channel thread...

My favorite episode of Dexter's Lab was on last night.
The one where he's trying to get the ice cream man to give him some ice cream :allears:

wow! now i feel like a jerk for requesting it like i did!
sorry and thanks! for you!
Christ, I loved Ren and Stimpy. Still watch it, sometimes.
One of the few nickelodean shows that didn't make me want to smash my T.V.
Is that the one with the jar of pennies?
Yeah.
Then at the end after the ice cream man tells Dexter how he ruined his life Dexter tries to pay for his ice cream with a 100 dollar bill.
Anyone remember the episode where the Janitor trapped Dexter in the school at night? That whole episode was ridiculously epic.
Hell yes.
And at the end the janitor's wife comes and yells at him for never being home.
Or the one with that giant burrito?

I loved how seriously the whole episode was taken. Taking it serious until the very end was what really sold it.
That whole show is great.
Since I got Boomerang it's basicly all I watch.

OMELET DU' FROMAGE
Most memorable episode hands down.
Oh man, I really wish I had boomerang. I just can't get it.
I hate CN for so many things, especially runing Toonami and cancelling it the way they did. But the thing that really messed it up for me was the fact that after Toonami was cancelled, they had Jetstream on for well over two years. Then they take it down. No explanation. None.
CN either needs to compeltely change it's lineup, replace everything with their old GOOD shows, or just fucking die already. It's a clone of Nick now. Any originality is gone. Any hint of respect towards it's veiwer's intelligence is non-exsistant... the whole thing is just completely ruined now. Toonami was the first thing I ever watched on T.V. since we were relatively poor, and didn't have a T.V. for a long time. I watched a lot of cartoon network after that. It was the only thing I ever watched. I had a long-standing hatred of Nickelodean and Disney Channel. I have fond memories of staying up past my bedtime and secretly watching Adult Swim at 4 in the morning. all of that.
Then they started replacing everything, one by one. The whole channel is shit now. Not even worth watching anymore.
Toonami's cancellation just completely pushed it over for me. I stopped watching Cartoon Network completely.
Toonami was the first thing I ever watched on T.V. and it's cancellation was probably the most fitting way possible for me to grow up and realize how fucked up everything is for kids these days.
Now I watch Adult Swim. almost exclusively Adult Swim.
I work during the day, away from the T.V. and when I do get a chance to watch anything, it's 10 P.M. anyways.
Thank god for [AS].
robo-boy was ok i guess...hell atleast it has enjoyable...sometimes
All I will say is this:
Midnight Run.
We need to send angry letters to CN bunch of jerk wads
I just found a video basically summing up Cartoon Network from it's beginning to it's horrible nearing death. Some of the shows on Cartoon Network are Ok, but it's like they aren't made with love or something anymore.

Gotta admit, all this stuff is serious nostalgia since I was little.
Anyone remember the old Adult Swim GUI (whatever it's called, the images when they begin and go to commercial break)? Instead of a black screen with text on it and maybe an image of some place with Adult Swim on it, it was an image of a pool with real pool sounds (there was also the whistle generally signifying that adult swim was starting, found in most public pools).
