I just want a guarantee that I can easily do car chases like the one you go through in the second mission.
I purposely failed that mission so many times because I enjoyed grappling cars to the ground and shooting out wheels without worrying about civilians bailing out on me.
I'm just hoping for a freeroam mode from the start, i couldn't care less by the story, it just wastes my time..
I've never understood this, I'd be bored and done with the game after 4 hours.
I guess some people just don't like getting immersed into a story like I do.
Okay, first off, for those complaining about Nerd³, Yes, he talks, he talks about the game, not pointless off topics that aren't the games, he's a funny review/overview style Youtuber. You don't see those often, and he has a good style to it. He's also VERY excited for this. Just Cause 2 is basically his favorite game, I don't think anyone else is reviewing it because no one with the same amount of viewers/subscribers is as excited for it as he is.
Secondly, Impressive Game. I loved Just Cause 2(Nearly as much as Nerd³) and this video shows how impressive and how much they actually took into thought the players concerns/popular wants for the game to have. All in all, the game seems well put together for "Pre-Alpha." I might pre-order this(Which says something because I don't pre-order).
-snip-
I like to think that they only added a wing-suit to accompany the insane freefall physics from previous games.
The game looks fun but I can hardly stand the constant talking and bad jokes from the guy.
He's not for everyone but to be fair I'm happy he got an early copy, he's in love with Just Cause.
I hope the enemies and peds have some actual character in this one, instead of being generic cookie-cutter, single-behaviour, faceless nobodies. I hope the cities have some character too, instead of being ultra-clean and empty shells.
JC2 did so many things amazingly well, and it ran beautifully for how gorgeous it looked. But on a micro level the world felt decidedly plastic
just cause 1 wasn't really anything to write home about
i liked it
Ew, fat design UI.
But if there is any one game other than HL3 that you should even think about preordering, it'd be JC3. And it's already shaping up to be pretty good.
nice. i still get shivers from BOLO SANTOSI
and that badly voiced swedish millionare guy, i stopped playing by that point and every time i started the game up he wanted me to do missions and talked for minutes
I loved Just Cause 2 but I just felt it was missing the charm of being to blow everything up like Red Faction games.

I came for the dialogue
I stayed for the glorious hookshot-gliding skills
I didn't watch the video, the jokes were annoying me so I don't know if he explained this or not. But how did he get the game this early?
I didn't watch the video, the jokes were annoying me so I don't know if he explained this or not. So he got to go directly to Square Enix and they gave him a demo build to play around with.

Broke into Avalanche Studios and stole a copy.
I don't understand why the graphics are so poor.
I get its still in development but every screen shot of this game the quality is just abysmal.

you and i have vastly different definitions of abysmal

The game looks great what are you on
Graphically this is a very attractive game
Guys I see the problem, I get why T-Sonar finds it ugly.
Look how much COLOR Just Cause 3 has, why that's not in line with standard AAA games at all! Where the fuck is the washed out colors, excessive bloom, and an ugly blue-gray filter over everything?

That's the only pretty screenshot I've seen. Everything else I've seen has some of the most god awful LOD scaling I've seen.
Like this screenshot on Steam for example.

It's alpha
It's also not that bad
[editline]23rd July 2015[/editline]
abysmal is a tad bit more than an exaggeration
it's an exponential exaggeration even
I know all about abyss type things

Considering that it's a general promotional screenshot they probably have the graphics settings closer to what the console version will end up being, as normally LOD is one of the things they scale back on as it's not so noticeable in general gameplay.
At least you know that screenshot isn't a bullshot, unlike what most other devs have been doing in recent years regarding promotional pictures/videos.

I don't really see much of a difference between how LOD scaling looks in that picture from how it does in most other games. If anything it's impressive how much detail they can maintain over such huge view distances.
If you look at the trees and environment in these screens it doesn't look a whole lot better:
[t]http://www.pcgames.de/screenshots/original/2015/05/the_witcher_3_armeelager_0001-pc-games.jpg[/t][t]http://images.eurogamer.net/2013/articles//a/1/7/5/6/6/2/1/XO_000.bmp.jpg[/t][t]http://games-pc-download.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/battlefield4-mp-11.jpg[/t]
Not to mention the viewdistances in these games is considerably shorter than in JC3
Also most other screenshots of JC3 look fantastic, I don't get what you're talking about that one LordCrypto posted being the only good picture.

im sure it won't matter when we're in motion, just as long as the models load in faster than we can recognize they're popping in
Great, it's 'Fallout 4 looks exactly the same as Fallout 3' levels of dissing the graphics for no reason time already.
im sure it won't matter when we're in motion, just as long as the models load in faster than we can recognize they're popping in
There won't be any popping, LOD pop-in is virtually non-existent in JC games because the terrain tech was built specifically for large draw distances and smooth LOD scaling. This is an interesting article detailing how Just Cause was born from a landcape generating demo.

Great footage and overall it looks great, had to mute it though.
It doesn't look particularly mind blowing graphically, although I doubt that's Avalanches main focus. Not that it looks bad either, judging from the promotional screenshots, the game in the video is pretty ugly although I suppose that's due to it being in Alpha, and I'm guessing said screenshots gave all the fancy graphics enabled.
As far gameplay tbh it looks a lot like JC2 with some new stuff added. Personally I don't think I'll buy it before a big discount because I don't feel like the sequel is warranted with the amount of content we're shown so far, but that's subject to change as soon as the game gets out. And this is obviously just my opinion.
I really wanted to watch this... but nerd3 is just not my cup of tea. I guess this could have been in worse hands, but this is just too much for me.
