Let's revive this thread, shall we? All originals. You can get it on SoundCloud or on Bandcamp. Oh, and one of my tacky ones for the fuck of it.
advice please, also i made it a little quiet on accident
I rap, only in swedish though.
I always freestyle and write, once i get a good mic im gonna be dropping so many songs, [editline]29th January 2014[/editline]
I don't understand how you can get so hostile just because it's a genre of music. You instantly become dickish towards me because you don't like what genre of music I'm in. CrunkCore is hip-hop, whether you like it or not. It IS the place for it. As for the lyrics, I disagree, as if you listen to pretty much ANY popular crunkcore song, the rhymes are even SIMPLER. I try to be clever with my lyrics, focusing on wordplay/punchlines. I haven't been making music for years. I've been making music for half a year. I just recently bought a $150 dollar microphone, which I used in that song. I'm serious about it. Also, what was wrong with the beat? Like really, give me some tips or something instead of saying it's just awful.
I think the lyrics are kinda basic but that can improve with time easily, and these beat and vocals are reall full and mixed really nicely, and the screaming shit wasnt my style but its not terrible, i dont see why people get so bent up over shit like that.... [editline]29th January 2014[/editline] I was wondering if you guys could give me advice and criticism, ive been told i could use more compression, i still dont fully get the gist of compression. It's an elegant type of simplicity in my opinion. The first two are slightly reminiscent of Soichi Terada's production (he's not a hip-hop producer though, he actually did the full OST for Ape Escape). I can't tell you much about compression/mastering though, since we're both on the same page. Good work though, they sound good!

The drum samples you used don't fit it too well though, IMO. It's a nice and clean track though. I like what you did with the cuts on the drums too. Was that your playing on the piano or was more of the melodic aspect of it sampling?

I could definitely use some advice, especially on emphasizing my kick and bass. General C&C would be highly appreciated.
Do any of you guys have any links to any good brass samples? I'm interested in writing some hiphop beats, but other that drum samples, im kinda lost. I don't need loops, just one hit samples.

General C&C would be highly appreciated.
The sample was actually really nice. I'm not so surefire on how to give more emphasis to the kicks other than by giving them a separate channel and doing some EQ shifting. Seems like the song needed a little more fullness. Other than that, I liked how it sounded. It has a nice groove.
Do any of you guys have any links to any good brass samples? I've been working on giving the melody more body with backing synths, but I'm having a hard time keeping it just right in pitch with the sample. Any way, means a lot. You really make the sweetest stuff.
Well, if you use FL Studio and have the plugin Harmor, it's got a lot of good options for making a nice synth.
I don't use FL, I haven't bought it and I don't plan on warezing it. I just cue up the samples in a pretty simplistic program called LPGT, I can get stuff down on the go, then port it over to my laptop no biggie. [editline]wot[/editline] I found a decent sample tho, it'll do for the moment.

In regards to maintaining pitch, what you could do is tweak either the sample to fit a perfect note (no cents difference) or make sure your instruments are in the same exact key of the sample (given maybe that the sample is written in C Major but is -50 cents down). Again, my pleasure. I'm glad you like my stuff too!
I don't use FL, I haven't bought it and I don't plan on warezing it. shit i fuckin forgot about this thread check this beat its ok
shit i fuckin forgot about this thread check this beat its ok
I liked it, but I felt like the drums needed more emphasis and the cuts were a little abrupt. Still a nice quickie~
I liked it, but I felt like the drums needed more emphasis and the cuts were a little abrupt. Still a nice quickie~
the cuts are supposed to be abrupt homie
the cuts are supposed to be abrupt homie
Nono, I get that, but I'm saying they don't sound good in that abrupt manner. Just my personal opinion though, don't worry. If that's the sound you're going for, then I can't appreciate it. <3 Oh, and here's a quick track I produced~ (it's a work in progress, but criticism is welcome as fuk yo)
Fucking hell Coming up with beats is like baking a fucking cake for 20 lately. God damnit.
This one has a bit more of an old school vibe to it. C&C appreciated.
Just finished this. C&C would be awesome.
Just finished this. C&C would be awesome.
Drums are on fire. Creative and diverse, that's awesome. However, I feel like the melodies are lacking exactly that: Creativity and diversity.
Happy Birthday to J Dilla and Nujabes. :D
https://soundcloud.com/labourpatrol/mogadishu I usually do more upbeat house-y stuff so this is a whole new sound for me. A lot of sampling and effects, just decided to be really experimental with it. Edit: I haven't be on here in awhile why do media tags hate me?
gotta take the s out of the https part :D
