pullups are better than this shit
nah
pullups are better than this shit
Works different muscles and are much harder to do than push ups though, thus might not be the best for beginners who can't even do a single pull up while they may be able to do atleast a few push ups.
pullups are better than this shit
pullups work back(biceps as well if you do chinups or you use a close grip), pushups work chest they aren't better, they work a different muscle group [editline]8th June 2013[/editline] they are one of the best back exercises you can do though [editline]8th June 2013[/editline] they are one of the best back exercises you can do though
pushups work tris and delts too
yea but you actually get strong
You actually get strong on push ups too, I don't see your point, you just get stronger on different muscles.
pullups are better than this shit
chin ups too?
Knock off the two zeros and you got yourself a challenger.
You actually get strong on push ups too, I don't see your point, you just get stronger on different muscles.
No. You can't get strong on push-ups, that's just horseshit. A push-up is around the equivalent of benching 60 percent of your bodyweight. Unless you're a fatty mcfatass, that's a laughable amount of weight for most people. If you're 200lbs, that's like benching only 120lbs. Doesn't matter if you can do it 100 times, it's still bitch weight and you aren't considered strong. 100 push-ups? Any kid with too much time to spend can do a program like this and get to 100 pretty easily. But it can take months of consistent training to get a previously untrained person to reach even 10 pull-ups. Hell, some guys gotta bust their dicks just to get to ONE pull-up. Because you're lifting your entire bodyweight, by the time you can pull your entire bodyweight up 12+ times, you're quite a bit stronger than the average person.
You know, what the hell. I don't do any exercise at all, but I also have no fat to turn into muscle, so I suspect this will just shorten my life span, or shatter my wrists
no one on face punch can't do one
I can do 147 pushups. Just tried. And I smoke. 6'10 and 82kg's
if you do it for many months, or years your muscles will definetly improve and get bigger. Following this program will keep you in shape, but you'll have to continue doing push ups long after finishing it if you want to see any changes.
Too many thick fuckers missing the entire point of this thread / idea. Best of luck to all those giving it a shot.
Too many thick fuckers missing the entire point of this thread / idea. Best of luck to all those giving it a shot.
im not thick im cutting
My fat ass can do 65, or 100 easily as two sets of 50, ability to do pushups doesn't correlate to overall fitness one little bit
I have this awesome game i play at rowing with out fitness coach. Firstly, you pick a number of push-ups to do in a minute, i do about a 9. Get out a timer and start. Do the push ups, then use the rest of the time as "rest" time. Repeat for an hour. I do 540 Push ups, but for a beginner i'd do closer to five. At the beginning, keep consistent. If you're short on time, do 30/15 minutes and double/quadruple the amount of push-ups you do. Be warned though, this will fucking wreck your chest, arms and abs. Always remember to warm up and down properly too.
Too laz
178 cm and 88 kg. I never do anything. Can this help me to lost weight?

Actually being strong though, push ups won't get you far in that. [editline]9th June 2013[/editline]
178 cm and 88 kg. I never do anything. Can this help me to lost weight?
Probably not, you lose weight by being a caloric deficit.
i tried and gave up after 16 pushups i am a pussy
Probably not, you lose weight by being a caloric deficit.
Oh. Anyway, I will take the challenge, I want to do 100+ push ups.
Wow and you fitness subforum regulars wonder why people don't visit you Hint: you're being asses.
Fuck all of you guys, this program is great. Went from ~5 to 50 pushups in a few weeks, and for a skinny bastard like me with no time for the gym, that's incredible. I feel a million times stronger, and I'm only halfway through. Working this in with the sit-up and pull-up program, along with a regular jogging routine has done me wonders.
178 cm and 88 kg. I never do anything. Can this help me to lost weight?
Although any type of activity helps you burn calories/fat, you'd have to do quite a bit of exercise for noticeable results. You can always combine this challenge with more working out. Be sure to always check your diet aswell. Remember. If you're consuming more calories than you're burning, you're gunna gain weight.
i tried and gave up after 16 pushups i am a pussy
You got 16 in your initial test? That's normal. Nothing to call yourself a pussy over. That should just motivate you more to hit your goal!
Wow and you fitness subforum regulars wonder why people don't visit you Hint: you're being asses.
Probably the testosterone. [editline]9th June 2013[/editline]
Working this in with the sit-up and pull-up program, along with a regular jogging routine has done me wonders.
Yes, I'm considering combining with the other challenges aswell. I'm thinking of starting the sit ups challenge half way through the push ups challenge that way my body is getting used to the routine. I'm going to start running in the next few weeks once I get some proper running shoes.
Wow and you fitness subforum regulars wonder why people don't visit you Hint: you're being asses.
Don't pit us all in the same bunch, all we really did was open our doors to any who would want to go past a simple push up program.
You know, what the hell. I don't do any exercise at all, but I also have no fat to turn into muscle, so I suspect this will just shorten my life span, or shatter my wrists
fat doesn't turn into muscle [editline]9th June 2013[/editline]
Was expecting all these posts to be people on board with the idea, but instead saw a bunch of babies whining about how this won't work and how pull-ups are better.. Nobody here is expecting to get 'ripped' off of this, but it will help them to build some muscle and get into shape even if it's just a little bit. Just stop bitching about it and let them have their fun.
hint: it won't add any muscle
