I'll throw down a couple I just finished. MC. T. Tucker & DJ Irv - Where Dey At? A fine example of early "bounce" hip hop. These guys were out of New Orleans in the early nineties. A friend of mind somehow got a tape single of this song, with some unremarkable B-side. Sure it's crude, repetative and topical in spots, but I like this song a lot. 3.5/5 if I'm nostalgic; less so if I'm honest, but these guys helped define Southern hip hop's direction. Underworld - River of Bass Solid track from Dubnobasswithmyheadman. Recalls staying in on a rainy day in New Orleans with a girl and little else. Kind of a more overt Underworld song with less of the stream-of-consciousness that's on some of the other tracks. Rated this fucker 3/5 because I'm trying to be objective for you guys. Which is tough with music.
