Wow that was good. The THQ-kaboom scene looks spectacular as well.
It's an honour to post in the same thread as DBS.
He did ?
I wanted to give mad props to Rush Freak as well for working so hard on said explosion. Wouldn't have been even half as awesome without him.
Oh hey he did
Someone buy him gold ffs
Then basically you're not the demographic. The good ones tend to be more so overview videos explaining features and perhaps demonstrating it.
Also some of it relates to being fascinated with new products and the reveal of them. Many people get excited when opening a new product they just bought, while an unboxing video (When done well atleast) doesn't reach that, it does hit the same kind of spot for many people.
i'm not trying to insult anyone but i cannot wrap my head around the mode of thinking required.
on the idea of the "reveal" of them, most people who'd be watching an unboxing are probably so into the product that they already know precisely what will be in there. and then on top of that they'll likely also be purchasing one of their own, and be able to experience the happiness themselves. like i get the happiness of unboxing a toy, but i don't think that joy could ever possibly permeate through my screen and be absorbed through my skin

Not trying to convince you to want to like them. But regardless of your points, people who enjoy watching them if they are really excited for something, or perhaps the video itself is a medium for finding an interesting item. Take LinusTechTips' videos for instance. It came to the point where he became a place for people to find new products rather than actual interest in the unboxing. it became more so a showcase of some sort of new electronic gadget or hardware item.
The reasons people have for watching an unboxing video these days is not always... the removal of the item from the packaging anymore.
That DSP model cracks me up every time I see it.
Keep up the good work.
I found it kinda slow honestly.
Pretty good video.
i've never understood unboxing videos
I'm usually curious as to how the insides of a box for a product look like.

Yes, but what is it packaged in? Is it wrapped in cellophane? Are the instructions on top or below the main product? Is there bubble wrap?

I think the reason why unboxing videos are so unpopular just comes from the good feeling you get from opening a brand new box or package. Even if it's someone else doing it, there's a certain euphoria just from watching the process.
