What kind of routine do you even use, Casus?
something similar to SS ( which is the best type of routine for beginners [ ~8 months and under])
And what do you plan on doing after that?
And what do you plan on doing after that?
madcow 5x5 which to me is the best routine for intermediate
How long do you plan on doing that for?
I mean it´s a solid schedule, it focuses a lot on critical mass exercises but it leaves some muscles lacking attention IMO

ill keep madcow up untill im happy with what i have and then just maintain, so a total of 1.5 years maybe , tbh madcow is pretty damn comprehensive and i cant see anything it lacks tbh
Just had a quick read on the madcow 5x5 and Binksy is right, seems like your shoulders, calfs and traps will be the most missed. Could be wrong though, maybe it was a different routine to what you've seen? The best programme is your own I always find, take ideas from other peoples but find one that works for you and remember to keep mixing it up every 6-8 weeks. The worst thing you can do is stick to the same routine for months on end, that's when progress starts to slow.

im to lazy to argue atm but shoulders ( ohp) calfs ( dl and squat) traps ( row and if i feel the need ill and if i fell like it ill add in power cleans) you literally dont have to have an holy seperate excercise to hit a muscle to make it grow . im going 2 sleep , i hope to see 200 posts when i wake up that i can argue about
I work abs daily. Front and side planks for 70s. Raised legs on both of these.
1st Day Chest, Shoulders - Drop sets from highest weight I can manage for 8-12 reps.
2nd Day Biceps, Triceps - Drop sets again, from highest weight for 8-12 reps.
0 Days off just keep looping it.
Food wise I'd safely say I rock about 1600-1800 calories a day sometimes more and sometimes less. One portion of protein-rich fish a day, usually a pasta dish of some kind with chicken, occasionally beef, and eggs from time to time. Pancakes have been a staple recently, I'm not sure on the calorific content, but I usually eat about 12 in a sitting.
I can't really manage to keep a serious diet going, as some days I wake up at 11pm and that would be 2 meals down if I was trying to be stringent about it.
If you have any protips to increase my gains/progress let me know, I'm no pro-bb by a long shot, just lucky enough to have the perfect metabolism for what I want to achieve.
Why don't you want to work legs and back? :-(
Bro, It´s like Sam said whatever works for you. I do recognize that those exercises do work those muscle groups but they don´t really hit them hard. I know you´ll see gains from it and you can´t really argue with that.
I don´t think there´s much to argue about sorry

Isn´t scope trying to do more calisthenics and planche stuff?
If so having heavy legs will only make it harder
[editline]14th March 2011[/editline]
Although I don´t necessarily endorse that mentality bc you can mess up your spine and stature if you just work upper body and no lower body
The article I was reading was shite:
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/wotw56.htm
This one seems pretty decent, not hitting the chest too much but you could add a few extra sets in there to make up for it. Just me, but I focus on my chest most of all, hitting it from all angles so normally get about 10-12 different exercises in there on chest day.

i saw your pic , did you change and what are your shortterm ( 3~6 month) goals
Dude, I was just asking a question. I've worked out before and I just can't become wider.

i hope by wider you mean more muscular which i cant be to sure calisthenics ( 95% sure) will build the ammount of muscle people are generally looking for

He's right calisthenics isn't too good for building. What you want to get wider will be some heavy lifting and then if you want transfer to calisthenics when you're "wide" enough

I would recommend changing it up at least a little monthly.
Most people are beginners (even 1.5 years into WL) and don't even need to mess around with those excellent routines.
People 5 months in start "mixing it up" "every 5 weeks" and shit like that. I myself use the same routine, up the weight and challenge myself with the weight and rep ranges rather than the exercises themselves. The notion that the body will adjust to something you increase resistance with, is quite moronic. Because it's as if you were saying that it won't grow or strengthen itself because the motion, the excercise itself, became too repeptive for him. So if I were trying to lift 20 pound wolves and went on to 50 pound wolves, the body will not adjust because he had done that movement earlier in his life and gotten used to it?
Even though I get the idea of 'mixin it up', the notion is only valid for very fresh beginners. Even if I were to mix up the excercise, I won't experience such a change that would actually favor me mixing it up every few weeks over just progressively loading micro weights or whatever. When you body had already built motorways in accordance to what you do, you can't mix much more. The impact will not be significant for much longer and might be even non-existent. Mixing up is not that nessecary, of course, depends on who you are and what you're doing. You can't "confuse" your muscles that much. The dynamics of the movements you do for each muscle can go so far..
If one would like to use routines that use hybrid-like (hypertrophy & strength) structures, I'd suggest texas or 5/3/1. I'd go with 5/3/1' but that's my personal reference. If you want fun, you might want to go with the Texas Method.

Because,

is my current target goal for this summer.
As soon as summer is over I'm going all-out hugh Jackman in preperation for next summer, and I imagine legs will be incorporated with that.
Work dem glamour muscles.
I do the same though. I have barely done any exercise for most of my life, so I'd like to get some somewhat decent arms and pecs before I start working on core.
I just cringe when I see buff guys at the gym with no butt. Looks so wrong.
don't worry i have a massive ghetto booty.
The amount of muscle in the world is a constant, so a lacking butt for someone is balanced by some having enormous butts.
I've got the ass of a black woman...
[editline]14th March 2011[/editline]
African American.

Yes, I know that. So I started weight calisthenics :)
I still have the ass of a fucking girl.
brb squats
My butt was chiseled by the gods themselves, Facepunch. My body was sculpted to the proportions of Michelangelo's David. You, on the other hand, well... you're a pit of despair. Facepunch, you disgust me. You disgust everyone.
*sniffle*
I got 80lbs (~38 kg) dumbbells for 4 times today :D on flat bench chest press
I got 80lbs (~38 kg) dumbbells for 4 times today :D on flat bench chest press
so 76 kg in all?
That sounds absolutely disgusting. Why not just boil the eggs?
I'm lazy. Trust me it tastes a bit like like milk shake. You got to get used to the slimey feeling though.
Creatine is magical. Last week my bench was down to 135lbs for 3 sets of 8.
Did 3 sets of 8 with 150lbs today. U mirin?
