Hello.
I am thin and weak as hell, so its time to change that. I want to begin on weightlifting, but i have no idea on how to start. I don't know what i should eat, or how much i should train weekly.
I weight 62kg and i am 184cm tall. Oh and my age is 15.
So facepunch what should i do?
get a dumbbell set at a garage sale for 5 bux and start a proper diet. no need for expensive gym memberships.
Cutting = high reps, low weight
First of fucking all diet is the most important part of a cut, if you don't focus on it you might as well be doing benches and curls and hope to look like ahhhnold.(i.e the type of stuff I wouldn't be surprised if you do. "gotta get my legpress in to get some swole arms")
Well while high reps could make you expend more calories it would be such a small margin and such a time waster that getting the essential amount of protein while using a heavy weight low rep type routine. An honest amount of fat loss you could expect from that type of training is around the extra half a pound a week.A routine like what you mentioned is fucking boring/stupid in most cases .

TL;DR Do you honestly believe the shit you're typing?
oh jesus fuck im starting to get stretch marks on the edges of my pecs and on my shuolders
what do I DO
Heh, I got stretch marks along my shoulders, biceps, and along my shoulder blades. They look like big gray scars now from a casual glance so its not a big deal.
Also, I did pin pull deadlift for 525 lbs today!

Is weight-lifting and swimming in different days a good thing? Like day 1 I go to gym and day 2 I go to swimming pool. I'm probably increasing my calorie deficit. :frown:

sure, some mild cardio can help you recover and whole slew of other things that i'm to lazy to right about.
Swimming is supposed to make your spine straight and train your whole body, similar to gym. I'm gonna go for a 3km swim today since a ticket lasts 2 hours in my town.
made some adjustments to my plan, would love some criticism/tips fitnessbros

(this is the basic layout, i'm always changing things around and swapping exercises for new ones)

bloated like shit
what?
what?
as in most of your bodyparts dont really need more than 1 (legs and back are an exception with 3 being the most) exercises, as in you dont need to hit "every angle" lmao. and the whole construction of what muscle groups make it awkward
He doesn't have much volume at all on there
He doesn't have much volume at all on there
that's what I was thinking too
[editline]19th March 2011[/editline]
perfumbro im mirin that 68kg military lift. i only just started doing sets of 50kg. no where near 68 but i'll get there one day. :v:
also perfbro how has the creatine been working with you in terms of performance? (I think it was you a few pages back that said you just started taking it)
as in most of your bodyparts dont need more than 1 (legs and back are an exception with 3 being the most) exercises, as in you dont need to hit "every angle" lmao. and the whole construction of what muscle groups make it awkward
I hate how you keep saying all kinds of things that doesn't make any sense at all to me, but I don't know enough about this shit to say you're wrong.
Creatine boosted my performance a ton. My bench went up 15lbs for my 8 rep sets and my military press increased something similar to that.
I hate how you keep saying all kinds of things that doesn't make any sense at all to me, but I don't know enough about this shit to say you're wrong.
so all you care about is proving me wrong ( fyi everything i say is true). i thought i was the asshole here
That is not what I'm saying at all. I'm just saying from what little I know I'd think you are wrong, but I don't know enough to be sure of anything.

~well just add me on steam if you have any questions about things i've said/their validity~
Your reaction to the "high reps low weight"-comment was quite surprising. Doing squats/deadlifts with reps like 20-30 with a quick pace using a really low weight, many sets and a short rest in between is an excellent HIIT exercise.
Also have you ever been been in bodypump? They go trough common exercises such as squat, bench, barbell curl ect, but with a lot of reps. It burns a ton of cals and is good for muscle endurance.
I found a cool android app a week ago. Basically it is an endurance pushup routine that aims to 50/75/100/125 pushups. I started the 125 routine a week ago. It's really nice, if you find the sets too hard/easy, the software makes it a little easier/harder. Day by day it adds more reps and decreases the rest in between.

it may be good cardio but it's definitely shit for weight lifting.

you are grossly overestimating how many calories it burns . fyi its not alot and youd be better off doing a hrep routine( something akin to SS ) to maintain the muscle you have, also doing so much exercise can be counter productive to you fatloss/weight loss goals . high reps low weight is retarded unless you know what youre doing it for fyi you dont. cardio is better done with running ,or sprints what ever you game is , HIIT isnt exactly all its hyped up to be

to be honest i'm too lazy to find articles right now so why dont we look at the famous Starting Strength. Also known to almost anyone who knows ANY FUCKING THING (ie not you apparently) as one of the best routines made. Lets look at what it has.
Legs: Squats , deadlift
Back: Pullups,chinups,deadlift
arms:Pulls and chins do almost the same thing for the arms so it really counts as one
Shoulders: over head press
now something that makes people become so large and strong should have 5000 fucking exercises per body part right, i guess SS is just bullshit then
fyi, unless you know what youre doing it for fyi you dont, anyone who knows ANY FUCKING THING (ie not you apparently)
Stop acting like an asshole. We're here to discuss and help each other.

It doesn't build muscle, but its great for cardio indeed.

tbh its personal preference , what ever you enjoy more is what you should do ( because for the thousandth time adherence is the most important part)

I DL like this. Seriously.
no
You do not use low weight to cut. You use high weight for power. Low weight and high reps will create strength endurance. The whole part of cutting is to cut fat. So if you work out for 1-5 minutes, you are using the energy already stored in the muscles. 5-20 minutes you are using the energy/sugars in your blood stream that you ate throughout the day. 20+ minutes you are burning straight fat. I'm taking classes on it. If you're gonna cut it's low weight, high reps

first of all you contradicted yourself btw. second of all if those are pt or bio classes they are most likely bullshit (unless its college bio ) third . 20 minutes for straight burning fat, ( bullshit). lets play a game and assume the 20 minutes is right and you will burn fat because somehow in 15 minutes you can burn 1500+ calories, do you even have the smallest fucking idea how little fat will be burned?

It's a fact not my opinion. It's how the body works.
