It's hard out there for an ectomorph. I'm close to 17 years old, and much too skinny for my liking. I'm 5'11 and about 140 pounds. The only real definition I have is at my abs (which is, itself, only because of the naturally low bodyfat I was blessed with). I also don't have a license because I'm a fool, so I can't get to a gym. But I'm looking to build muscle, and more than anything, get defined. Any advice?
Build yourself a gym. All you need is a pullup bar bench and a barbell+weights. =]
Doesn't that kind of limit my options?
All you need is a barbell and some plates. You can use a fucking tree as a pullup bar.
Not really. You'll be able to do squats, deadlift, bench press, flies, different kinds of curls, pull ups, chin ups, shoulder press, lateral and front raise, shrugs, different kinds of rows and a shitload more. You can train every muscle in your body with a pull up bar and a bench.
Doesn't that kind of limit my options?
plates and a bar are pretty much all you need, bro. That and a bench.
gj brah wtf exactly is pin pull (strong unaware)
Pinpulls are when you deadlift starting from a slightly elevated position because the bar is resting on the safety pins set very low on the weight-rack instead of on the ground. Google pinpull deadlift and you'll find plenty of youtube videos showing it.
get back in the arts forum perfumly we miss you

VQ is a beginner. Per is a beginner. You're a beginner. Your definition of who is a novice, beginner or even veteran is fucked up. SS was made with an emphasized look on compounds and gaining as much strength as possible. Which is what most people need, even after 2 years of training. So, in that respect, it's not a beginners routine. The point is, you guys haven't reached the point where you can say "shit, I need to focus on biceps, because they suck or something of that sort. You haven't finished, or are even close to your genetic potenial. Placing that much focus is something you do when gaining strength is not something that feels that easy. Focusing on basic compounds and simple high-rep(8-12), moderate-heavy weights would do you good no matter what you focus on. Your growth is still at it's peak. You rush things and focus on what you don't need. I was like that, I enjoyed it, yet I'm back to the basics because there's no need, even for me. If you really insist, then switching from SS to Texas Method or 5/3/1 would be a good choice. It's something that works. [editline]19th March 2011[/editline] He's just trying to attack the muscle from every direction. Doing as much as possible. In his current status, he could have done basically the same with half the amount of volume, even 80% and focus more on strength. There is no need for that amount of volume in his level. Rubbing his balls would create enough hGH for him to grow. As a suggestion, read what I wrote above.
k, reaching 'maximum potential' like you said won't be possible with SS no bis, no tris, how can you get maximum potential while ignoring your arms? you will get a bulky physique, I really don't want that and neither do most people there is NO reason AT ALL to not include isolation exercises with compounds
get back in the arts forum perfumly we miss you
Isn't perfumbro the mod for the music section? Not that it really needs that much moderating...
I just woke but I kinda remember ss having skull crushers, hyperextensions, deracks or w/e and BB curls as assistance exercises
A second.
Isn't perfumbro the mod for the music section? Not that it really needs that much moderating...
i was arts mod but now im super mod and i don't really do much modding anymore because I don't look at much of FP other than in the news and WF
Oh nice upgrade. All I comment is in here and music. I look around CC and news too

I'm planning on getting a new bicycle to use for commuting, as gas prices are really putting a strain on my budget. What are some exercises I can do to be more in shape for cycling?
I'm planning on getting a new bicycle to use for commuting, as gas prices are really putting a strain on my budget.
make sure you do squats n shiz, but the volume looks fine, lol @ 1 exercise per bodypart .
can you show me in any way how you would need more than 2 exercise per body part??
can you show me in any way how you would need more than 2 exercise per body part?
it's common sense ask ANY bodybuilding or weightlifting pro, most, if not ALL will recommend AT LEAST 10 sets per bodypart (multiple exercises) I know a weightlifting pro, this is what he says, I know an IFBB pro, he says this too, really this is just something everyone knows you just don't work your muscles enough with one exercise
