you did DL's with 10 lbs? There are some good exercises you can do with that weight but I would think DL's would be a waste of time.

hahaha naww, man, I've got a bench, I used the dumbbells for flys and shit
Help?
I would probably say the internet. You could get those DBs that you can add plates on and such. It would prob be cheaper
probably NOT this
imagine the shipping on 200 pound dumbbells worth lol
just buy an adjustable dumbbell set at a local working out store or even walmart or garage sale
IDK much about buying weights since I go to a gym.
Also, I'm not a doctor
Just buy plate weighs from your local big store which has them, they're not awfully expensive and if you walk home with the plates you get a nice workout for multiple trips!
This morning I hit 275 on squatz and 145 on powercleans for max.
I was so happy :DDDDDDDD
i think i fucked up my calves, hurts when i run, aches after (trying) to jog
hopefully i'm not out of commission for too long, gonna rest and drink lotsa vit c
I fucked up my left elbow, didn't warm it up properly I guess before doing military press (which I've only ever done once before (with horribly low weighs used this time I may add, used 34/32/30kgs)). Trying to keep it warm and moving now

potassium too!
Couple of questions.
1) When I go to the gym ; my exercises usually follow the routine of : 10, rest, 12, rest, 10, rest, 8, rest, 6, stop. My rest periods are 1 minute long. Am I doing it right? I want to grow bigger.
2) How harmful is alcohol? I drink a lot of alcohol per week.
3) How harmful is McDonalds? I'm a skinny bastard but all I want is some Maccas. Are they bad for my muscle growth?
For mass you typically want to do 3-4 sets of around 5-8 reps.
Alcohol can be pretty harmful regularly
McDonalds is find for helping muscle growth but the preservatives and chemicals in it are not good for your general health. But it won't affect your gains. (It may make you fat, though)

But is the reps/sets I'm doing fine?
I would shoot for higher weight lower rep.

you are doing too many sets, and why does it go up then down, either keep it all at 10 reps, or do 10 8 6 or something like that
if you get wasted like once a week it probably won't do too much except make you feel like shit the next day, there is also lots of empty calories in alcohol so it's bad for a cut but if not, just try and cut down, it's bad for your overall health
don't have junk food more than 1/2 times a week, it's just shitty for everything
Deadlifts and back workout today... my gluteous maximus hurts. I did...
132 lbs x 1
132 lbs x 3
132 lbs x 3
132 lbs x 3
132 lbs x 3
88 lbs x 7
88 lbs x 7
To work off stress, I just kinda grabbed whatever gear i had around my room and worked. I don't have any DB's so I borrowed some 10 lb ones from my little brother. I did deadlifts, pullups/chinups, pushups, curls, flys, and crunches. Good times.
work off stress by creating another stressor on your body
oh boy have fun w/ that

This is wishful thinking. Getting wasted is basically metabolic suicide. Yes plenty of guys still hit the gym and then get pissed every weekend, but it means you are basically cutting your gains in half, as well as increasing your body's propensity for storing fat.
Alcohol is just a terrible drug in general imo.
hoh boy
not
even
close!!
Why is everyone doing so many sets???
first week thats what i said
everyone qq'd
!!!
how is alcohol THAT bad
I only have it once a month, but only because it makes me feel like shit the next day
it lowers testosterone (only slightly, pre much unnoticeable) and just dehydrates you
( its not bad at all )
Happy 420!!!!!
Lifted 71kgs (156lbs) with deadlift and this is the second time I've ever done these. I'm fairly pleased, considering how weak my back is.
EDIT: 5 reps as suggested by Casus

God, why is everyone always so much stronger than me in every aspect, I started with 20 lbs DL, months ago. And my lower back today hurts from yesterday DL's (not sore) I feel I fucked it. :(
I hate how everybody is afraid to use belts, just to do a couple of lifts. I HAVE to use a belt ALL day, because of my lower back pains. And I still have good abdominal strength.
Umm video yourself lifting. You may not notice it but you probably have a bad lower back angle. If you always use a belt your lower back will never get stronger. Smaller weights, better technique.
Deadlift has been the only exercise where i've had great starting stats. I did 2.4 times my body weight after two weeks of gym =D 155kg at 64kg (I just realized It was 150+5kg cause I had two 2.5kg locks). Everything else sucks balls.

Check your form, bro. Are you using a barbell? You need to break off the belt for that little of weight.
It feels good to hear there's at least someone weaker than me besides Stephen Hawking, sucks for you though, Anemone.
But yeah, form is most likely what is your problem (plus the belt with such low weighs, you'll never get stronger with it if you're truly as weak as you make it be). With deadlifts form is the no. 1 thing to consider.
yeah brah, belts are there pretty much just for max lifts
if you keep doing it with a belt, you won't get stronger so lower the weight, take off the belt and practise form, deadlifts (for me, and lots of other people) are the easiest to get strength at
