if you can't deadlift at least 200lbs/90kg for one rep chances are there is something terribly wrong with your form.
How can you only deadlift 20 lbs?
I've been going to a weighroom almost every day for the past 4 weeks for Track Practice (I'm a thrower)
One of the things I have to do is backsquats. Problem is I can't get low enough! I'm thinking it has to do with a tendon in the back of my leg being too short because when I was little I walked on my toes...
My weight trainer said stretching is useless and the best thing to do is to just try and get lower and lower with each rep. ANOTHER problem is after I do a workout with back squats I can't help but walk on the balls of my feet because it hurts to use my heel.
Should I see a doctor or is there a certain thing I could do to help this?
how low do you get

He must have meant 200
Until my feet start to turn outwards my thighs are at a little less than 40 degrees.
You know how you are supposed to "sit back" with it? I can't come anywhere close to doing that.

I think he actually means 20 pounds, bruh

this, those videos have gotten lots of good reviews, but once again their style is more of a powerlifting style
still a good watch though
You have the worst trainer ever if they told you stretching is worthless...

Stretching before a workout is kind of worthless. If you injure yourself during resistance training and blame it on a lack of stretching, lmao, just lmao
P.S mainly I'm talking about static stretching. Dynamic stretching is fine, but unneccessary unless you are doing high intensity explosive work, such as sprints where there is a risk of hamstringing.
But TBH I've almost never stretched, if the human body needed to stretch before taking upon any kind of strenuous activity, I don't think we would've survived running from sabertooth tigers. but w/e

Someone told me that if you dumbbell bench alot your regular bench press will go up
Is it true?
Also my bench press sucks, 150 max :(

Dumbell press has much more range of motion, and somewhat less stability.
The end result is yes usually your normal bench will go up.
I always stretch between the sets. Seems to speed up muscle recovery and I don't feel like Quasimodo when I wake up the next day. Especially leg workout seems to stiffen my movement unless I stretch.

Not if you do it 1-arm..

DB bench strengthens your stabilizers and can help your bench go up. Basically what Jaeger said.

I would not necessarily recommend doing that.

Last meet was 3 weeks ago and I've only been able to practice and weight lift this past week.
Discus 68'9''
Shotput 27'9''
I have a meet tomorrow. Heres to hoping I'll get farther distance! I at least gained a foot on shotput since then.

stretching is close to useless to help me get better at squats compared to just doing them slowly and going lower each time. Sorry for the confusion.
He is certified through USA Weightlifting or something like that.
