I admit having done the same a couple times too, although not to rest my muscles but to get rest myself.

you could always pull a Perfumly and skip school to get better and then go workout at the end of the day lol
Can't wait to fucking get back in the gym tomorrow fuck. Haven't lifted for like four or five days.
I feel the same way. I want to work out over the weekends, but getting fisted in the ass all weekend working in a kitchen until midnight or later all weekend kind of kills me wanting to go to the gym after work. And i'll be damned if i go before. I don't need to collapse on the floor at work.

I know how you feel man. I work all day sundays and I don't workout before cause I'll collapse during work, and don't go after because I'll be too tired from the work itself. It's a problem, but good thing I made sunday a full rest day.
Do some pullups in the kitchen???
I don't have to "go workout" since I do so at home. I've always been a firm believer in rest = get well soon though, so I'm definitely not going to work out while this goes on <.<

Perfumly's new title thing
NotMeh and MajorHelper work out at home
I can see it now

I think the resting=getting well faster is true, but sometimes I think I've actually quickened my healing process from a cold by working out instead of sitting at home. Really no way to prove it, but the day after the workout the night before (cold, sniffles, headache) I woke up feeling perfect
what do science
Many people confuse resting/recovery with being lazy I feel.
Generally speaking, active recovery is far more beneficial to your recovery than sitting on your ass is. Active recovery can be really simple stuff like going for a brisk walk or doing very light exercise etc. Basically low intensity stuff to promote blood flow to the muscles and the like.
tbh 75% max hr cardio is perfect for recovery .
Arms and Shoulders, you're going to wish you were dying in a fire after I work you guys out today.
You're working us out tonight? Why wasn't I told :P
Do you guys use a treadmill or jog around your neighbourhood as part of exercise?
Do you guys use a treadmill or jog around your neighbourhood as part of exercise?
I don't understand why somebody would own a treadmill when they can just go outside. Or even drive to go to a park where they walk around for 30 minutes then sweat their ass off.

i meant 10 minutes.
Finally back at the gym :D I missed a fucken week because of my god damn back, but im back into it now (minus the back day lol, still resting it).
Man I'm not leaving it 5-6 months between working my legs again. Topped out at 85kg on leg press! That's where all my weight has been lost, should see an easy 15-20lbs from working the legs and quick results as they used to be toned, just got lazy and decided to drop leg days from the routine, stupid move.
Absolutley defeated by the stairs at work at the minute though!
what does that even mean
you squatted witch a schoolbag lol wut
It's literally what it means.
Home workout = Dumbbells = not enough weight = have to use homemade weights eg. Schoolbag full of books
it's retarded but it works
YEAAAAAH. Chest day is upon us. I can't wait. I gave my chest 96 hours rest.
Dis be me shedule:
Mon: Chest n shoulders
Tues: Back n biceps.
Wed: Legs. (gluteus maximus incluided)
Thurs: Lower back.
Friday: Chest n shoulders.
Saturday: Back n biceps.
Hittin' da week with chest brahs and finishin' it with chest again. Rate my shedule.

Might end up doing some damage there. When you're squatting you want to bar resting on your shoulder blades with your feet slightly in front of the bar and a good straight back. If you're wearing a bag then most of the weight will be right over your lower back meaning putting strain on your lower back and not getting a good range of motion to work the legs properly.

There's no bar involved when I'm using dumbbells anyway.

But you've still got (hopefully) the weight resting on your shoulders with the dumbbels though, taking the load off your lower back and not allowing it to arch. Not trying to be picky with you or anything, just saving you an injury a few years down the line if you pick up some bad habits in the early days.
How do I bulk up? In any way, bulking up from a scratch adn etc
How do I bulk up? In any way, bulking up from a scratch adn etc
eat
[editline]lol[/editline]
a lot
I like how everyone asks a lot of questions about bulking (simple shit) and never about cutting (way more complex)
what is this
Because most people asking about bulking are generally new to training or still want to gain size. When they want to start cutting they will ask about cutting.
we need a cutting thread
I have literally no idea what/how to eat without fucking over my gains.
When I've cut in the past I pretty much lived on a diet of chicken and broccili, you want to aim for about a 500 calorie deficit per day.
Other good foods are oily fish like macrel or very lean steak. Aim to eat about 6 small meals a day. You don't stop resistance training like many may think, just drop down about 10-15% of your normal lifting weight and add an extra couple of reps onto each set but only lift 2-3 days a week. With cardio it's best to try and do 2 sessions a day, low intensity in the mornings/lunch and high intensity (circuit training) in the evenings.
I agree there should be a thread, there's a hell of a lot more to it than you think.

Working on making the thread right now actually
oh and that`s way too much cardio for cutting, with that much cardio you`ll burn the proteins from your muscles and waste a fuckton of muscle
also why would you drop the weight and add reps, if you`re in the hypertrophy range already it doesn`t matter if you do 10 reps or 15 reps for cutting, 10 would actually be better
Do you guys use a treadmill or jog around your neighbourhood as part of exercise?
treadmill is useful for rainy or cold days, fuck running in the snow or rain when it`s cold
but running outside is better, the air is better, and it`s better for your bones and joints too

there`s no way you`d see an easy gain of 20 lbs in your legs quickly lol
imagine how much 20 pounds is, that will take you months
