I just finished reading Arnold Schwarzenegger's Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding. Jesus Fuck. Can't wait until the summer, my brother will be driving me to a gym. The only access I've had to a gym is my school's weight room, which my gym class, unfortunately, only goes to every thursday. I've only gone three times, but I love it. I got really motivated when I saw this in the book: It's Arnold at 16 years old, and I just turned 15. When I do that pose, everything except my quads is more detailed. I think I can get a great physique if I really start hitting the gym now :D Can't wait to do some squats and fix these pathetic legs.
Definition=/=muscle size.
What's a good alternative to nuts as a mid-afternoon snack and also a protein boost? Have been making good progress and adding weight but some of that weight is fat, the stomach has started looking a bit gooier than before. So far I'm making pretty good progress without supplements. Hoping to keep adding weight without the supplements and when the progress starts to slow I can start on the whey and creatine to keep the progress coming. Any advice?
the stomach has started looking a bit gooier than before.
do more abs exercises? especially toning ones, rather than pure gain ones (i put the question mark because i am probably talking out of my arse cos i know fuck all) [editline]5th May 2011[/editline] the only thing that pleases me about being a ridiculous ectomorph is how incredibly easy it is to get abs definition. nothing else. ... well, not counting that when i'm 40, most of the shorter people i know who build muscle really easily will be struggling with their weight and fat while i will still be skinny and tall
I already hit my abs pretty hard in the week. Like I said, as well as lean mass I've also lobbed on a bit of fat. I always have that mid-afternoon snack before the gym but I reckon it's the nuts as the rest of my diet is pretty clean. Just can't think of a decent replacement that's still high in protein.
Got myself signed up for football. I started lifting today and benched about 90 lbs. Is that near a good mark for an out of shape 14 year old? I'll be lifting 3 times a week now, so I'm hoping to get that up.
Here I am 4 weeks later, lost alot of weight and got my bench to around 115. I can see and feel my muscles for the first time in my life, couldn't be happier.
Remember guys, women don't like built guys anymore. They like scrawny little emo kids with abs
Remember guys, women don't like built guys anymore. They like scrawny little emo kids with abs
depends on the woman and it depends how massive you go and in what style you go massive the girl i am seeing currently says she likes my build, as ridiculously skinny as it is. i'm not satisfied with it, however, hence going to the gym and eating differently in order to gain weight. that said, i know, because of my metabolism and other genetic factors, i'm never going to be truly built... and nor do i particularly want to be. this same girl has commented to me how, despite many girls being attracted to this sort of person, she does not find certain body-building friends of mine attractive at all (I'm talking about the fairly built guys here)* to the extent that she views it as almost abhuman but other girls find these guys massively attractive *example http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/198918_1757135242973_1076756795_1957109_7297875_n.jpg ... that was the best demonstrating picture i could find
Women have no idea what built is. A girl walked up to me and asked why my arms are so big. There 14'' smh.
again, you're being really sweeping and misogynist it completely depends on the woman and what sort of circle of friends they keep - i don't think any of my female friends would view 14" as especially big. it's above average and this may be appreciated but no one would comment on it like "woah holy shit" i say stop complaining and get on that gash who clearly thinks you have massive guns

How much progress can I see if I started working out now by the end of next month. BTW I plan to work my ass off.

Really? Absolutly 0 results? No increase in strength, or slightly more definition after 2 months of working out?
You will see increase of strength but visibly you probably won't notice many changes in appearance
You will see increase of strength but visibly you probably won't notice many changes in appearance
I've taken note in the past year or two, that I started the "100 pushups" thing, and finished it, twice, It's just calisthenics, but I've seen results in my bi's, tri's and I quickly developed a more solid chest than I ever had before, I know I had made a significant improvement, but nothing that I was truly proud of, but it was something. And I gained strength from the little program, made my job easier. But I'm basically ready to get my membership at a local gym, which I've grown quite fond of, and I just want to come in there with decent expectations, but my main goal is still fat loss, at 145, I'm still fucking fat, and it's quite annoying.
Random question: What's everybody's waist size on their pants, relative to height and weight? I'm 6'2" and nearly 240lbs (1.88m/107kg), and I still fit comfortably into 34" waist pants.
wait you weigh 145 lb? that's not fat at all. Also, push ups don't work your bi's...? The point is, it's going to take a good amount of time to see any real difference.
