But the weights are not attached to the plate you're pushing. They're hanging at the side...
Pretty sure that doesn't make a difference. Anyways, my leg press was at 90 degrees, don't think the entire physics thing matters there
I'm trying to build up muscle in my arms and chest, does anyone know where I can buy some fairly cheap weights? And what kind would be suitable for that kind of thing?
But the weights are not attached to the plate you're pushing. They're hanging at the side...
Well if it's a press with cables and there's no 45 angle, the whole story is different. I'm talking about the traditional leg press. But take note that many of the cable machines have 1/2 transmission rate to steady the movement and save the cables.
Last week I told the most weak emo boy(with snake bite and all) that what he was doing was wrong, and explaining to him politely how to do it properly, and all he said was "Then how come I am getting fucking buff from doing this??". There is nothing more hilarious than seeing skinny youngsters in the gym who have no clue what they are doing, but attempt to look like they know. If you seriously are that clueless, seek help.
also about cables presses: shouldn't you technically count in your own weight to the weight you're pressing too? I mean you technically aren't even pushing a plate or anything, but a sled with yourself and a cable attached to it.
also about cables presses: shouldn't you technically count in your own weight to the weight you're pressing too? I mean you technically aren't even pushing a plate or anything, but a sled with yourself and a cable attached to it.
That's not necessarily how it works, but you should be able to push at least your own weight anyway.
That's not necessarily how it works
thanks for the detailed explanation
also about cables presses: shouldn't you technically count in your own weight to the weight you're pressing too? I mean you technically aren't even pushing a plate or anything, but a sled with yourself and a cable attached to it.
Well the cable press sleds are horizontal and have ball bearings. Your own weight doesn't affect at all.

I like the last 2 pages of this thread! I demand more mechanic talks please.
Can calves be worked every 24 hours, like abs?
Can calves be worked every 24 hours, like abs?
I correct myself; Muscle fiber composition of the gastrocnemius and soleus averaged 57 ± 2 and 85 ± 3 % type I fibers, respectively. A poor correlation was found between fiber type and maximal isometric force production (r = 0.38; p > 0.05). However, calf muscle strength and muscle size was positively correlated (r = 0.76; p < 0.05).
Can calves be worked every 24 hours, like abs?
Abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym. The volume of your abdominal muscles barely increase even with much strength training, the key to abs are to keeping fat off your belly.
The volume of your abdominal muscles barely increase even with much strength training,
notsureifsrs.jpg weighted ab exercises and heavy compounds will make your abs a lot thicker
Abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym. The volume of your abdominal muscles barely increase even with much strength training, the key to abs are to keeping fat off your belly.
That was greatly irrelevant.

My brother told me that I can work calves every day, but every time I work them out, they're still pretty sore 24 hours later. I've been doing sets on them every 48 hours, and I was wondering if I should be doing them every day. Also, kellogs, the hell are you talking about? One year ago I was a pogo-stick, and my stomach was flat crap. Now, I have more fat on me than I did a year ago, and I have nicely defined abs. Would love to post some pictures, just need to find a way to post pictures taken off of a shitty webcam.
why the fuck would you even do them every day?
Why not?
Well fuck how about you are probably doing more harm than good if you keep breaking down your muscles without enough recuperation time in between workouts(which one day is not, assuming you are going for size and are hitting them hard).
Abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym. The volume of your abdominal muscles barely increase even with much strength training, the key to abs are to keeping fat off your belly.
I'm fat as fuck (Relatively) and I can still see my abs. Because my abs are HYOOOOJ.
I'm fat as fuck (Relatively) and I can still see my abs. Because my abs are HYOOOOJ.
Tha fuck u aint fat, i'm fat.
U aint fat, i'm fat.
NAH DOOD. no but srsly I'm fat as fuck for someone who is only 145 lbs. Had a great bi and back day. Not feeling enuf burn in the back though.
I'm leaving for a cruise tomorrow, guys. HOPE THAT THE SHIP HAS A GOOD GYM.
I bought some protein today, I threw one table spoon in about 16 oz of water after working out, is that too much or too little. Also, the gym I'm joining is open 24/7. Aww yeah.
I believe you should read the instructions that are printed on the side of the protein bag/pot.
I believe you should read the instructions that are printed on the side of the protein bag/pot.
I can't wait to video the ripping of the toenail solely so you will see it.

Oh GODDAMNIT Binsky! That actually made me recoil due to the unexpectedness.
