pro art 10/10 [editline]16th May 2011[/editline]
i wish i enjoyed tuna. it makes me puke
i make mine with 2 tsp of mayo and a tsp of sriracha
I make a sauce of it by using two cans of tuna and canned crushed tomatoes. Delicious stuff enjoyed every once in a while. Eat that too often and you get sick of it though.
Does anybody else have the people who come in to the gym with monsters and redbull?
Does anybody else have the people who come in to the gym with monsters and redbull?
and?
and?
I don't know I just think it's funny. It's like drinking soda at a gym
Even if that's the case, you're not at a bodybuilding level to call such claims. They're tried to achieve.. oh trust me.
I'm not at a bodybuilding level to call such claims? The hell? I don't know what kind of "research" you've been doing, assuming you know a shit ton about bodybuilding. I don't understand why you're arguing against something like you can "grow" muscular features like an eight-pack or suddenly change long biceps in to high-peak ones. btw, would love to see your development from your amazing knowledge of bodybuilding. Got pics, bro?
Aight so i checked my weight (friends scales) and I weigh 65kg... 143lbs @ 5'10, same as I have for fucking ages. So, I wanna bulk but I'm a bonafide ectomorph, seriously I've been eating alright but occasionally lapsing, meanwhile my muscles are getting larger and my body fat is dropping, but I'm staying at 143 and not gaining.. Today's the day I begin a serious bulking cycle, I've stocked up the fridge and shit too. Today I ate two Steakhouse whoopers clocking in at a total of 1940 calories, and a whole cheeze pizza, bringing my total so far up to around 2850 calories. Gonna work out shortly after this pizza settles and grab up a protein shake which should push me to around 3500. God it's gonna be expensive keeping this up, do you know any 'cheats' that can get me 3.5k calories up or so for under £5 a day?
What would you guys reccomend for free weight excercises I can do to hit my triceps. I've been using the machine at my gym, but it is one of those where you push down like you're getting out of a chair. It is all fine and dandy until you start trying to lift your own body weight and you just push yourself out of the seat. I have free weight excercises for almsot everything but my triceps. I just can't think of anything that would be particularly effective.

Got pics, bro?
My pics are irrelevent and I'm not the kind of person to put myself on the internet. No matter what and even if I was 500lbs of pure mass. And I never assumed such things. You said you can't see your eight-pack dispite being low bodyfat. I said otherwise, that you weren't near close low enough bodyfat. Sorry if it sounds as if I'm arguing the fact an 8-pack exists, but I actually weren't. And you think I'm arguing, because most people just throw those stuff in the air. "Genetics" "I can never have that or that" when in reality most people never really have gotten to a point where they can say it. Everybody has an eight pack, it's just a matter of how your fat is being stored throughout the body. That's why I insisted you weren't never really low bf%. There isn't any structural difference between 8-packers and 6-packers abdominal-wise. Build a decent diet, and add to it. You won't need to battle with yourself about expenses if you just did the math instead of eating like a monster. If size is what you want, I wouldn't shy away from them for triceps. But I guess at your level, you'd be more than fine with what I've said in the 1st sentence.
guys, i've fallen off the /fit/ wagon ;_; i was doing so well then i went to stay with a girl friend in stirling and ate crap for a week and did no lifting, then i came back and stopped eating carbs for the primal blueprint thing... i've been doing it for a month and i've lost a stone of fat that i didn't really need to lose. i'm becoming ottermode when i'd rather be quite a bit bulkier. still with a low bodyfat % i've also been doing far more cardio than weights, three mile cross country run five out of seven days a week, ontop of my physically demanding job. i don't feel like lifting until i get some protein supplements again because of the huge gains i was getting from them (seemingly) is it worth it to lift with a poor protein intake? also a pretty low calorie diet at the moment. be nice, remember i'm still relatively new kissy [editline]16th May 2011[/editline] also did perfumbro shave or wax or something? hahah wow

Hard to excel at two different things. Either run or lift, which you want to get better at it? I'd say go both, but you seem to love cardio more than the usual gymer and you can't supply yourself much food. Beyond choosing any of these, you need to realize that a lack of a sufficient diet will hinder your running performance as well. Don't rely on Protein Shakes. Solids are much better for your system.
Do you guys prefer isolation or compound w/o's? Or does it really matter?

What do you guys think of this routine. Scroll down a bit.
Do you guys prefer isolation or compound w/o's? Or does it really matter?
As a beginner, compounds. Later, you could consider adding more isolation work.
also did perfumbro shave or wax or something? hahah wow
no? I just don't grow a lot of bodyhair. Except on my legs and ass
Do you guys prefer isolation or compound w/o's? Or does it really matter?
Compound. In my position, I avoid isolation exercises almost completely. I stick to: Squats, Deadlifts, Bench, Overhead press, Barbell Rows. with abdominal exercises mixed in as well. dont really see a need to do any 'isolation' on top of that. imo, its only really necessary if you are a body builder. all the old school olympic lifters did compound.
I do both
I realized today, that I can't dead lift, my torso is so short in comparison to my legs, that It's impossible for me to bend that low without bending my back to pick the weights up.
You're probably just doing something wrong
yeah you must be doing it wrong. me, i actually have problems with it because my legs are so long, that my knees always get in the way. pisses me off
you two with dl problems could check out RDL and SLDL if its all that hard. or you could try stretching daily to get more flexible
yeah I do romanian deadlift sometimes to substitute. but generally i use this deadlift barbell that splits around wide out around your legs on both side.
a trap bar?
that is indeed what it is called
the only thing i would really worry about is bicep tears from using that at high weight
that could happen with any high weight exercise with your arms. but if you have good technique, you can avoid that
I realized today, that I can't dead lift, my torso is so short in comparison to my legs, that It's impossible for me to bend that low without bending my back to pick the weights up.
Yeah? You have short legs you say? this is for you then my faithless friend! http://stronglifts.com/lamar-gant-long-limbs-deadlift/ Just for the sake of everybody, here's the imporant part - Lamar Gant, he was the 1st man to Deadlift 5x body-weight: 661lb at 132lb. He later pulled 688lbs and is the world record holder in the 123lb and 132lb weight class. Lamar Gant is 15x IPF world champion, 18x National Champion and even made the Guinness Book of Records. Before you say that it was easier for him because he had gorilla like arms that almost reached the top of his knees, look at his other lifts. Lamar Gant was NOT just an amazing Deadlifter, he also achieved a 615lb Squat and 352lb Bench! Lamar Gant Benched 352lb at 132lb even though he had gorilla like arms. Add that Gant also had scoliosis, and as you can see on the picture below, he has a lot more curvature than StrongLifts Member Harrison (“Maslow”, page 69 in the 5×5 report) and I do. Maybe this was one of Gant’s motivation: keeping his back healthy by strengthening the surrounding muscles with heavy lifting. Lamar Gant had scoliosis and yet he became a world class lifter. If Lamar Gant could do it, why not you? [editline]17th May 2011[/editline]
the only thing i would really worry about is bicep tears from using that at high weight
wat???
Been to the gym thrice in the past week and now it feels like my triceps are swollen and it is slightly stiff. Is this natural or should I see someone about it?
